"gay people shove their sexuality down people's throats too much" is so bizarre to me. straight people who say this act as if heterosexuality is underrepresented. Comparably in media, you are much more likely to see a same sex couple than you are a queer one. If you go into public, you are also more likely to see straight couples. Yet people like to say we are plaguing their movies, books, tv shows and games. If anything, heteronormativity is what is getting shoved down people's throats too much.
They like to act as if any queer representation is only added in to seem diverse, which can be true, but deeming it as if it were unrealistic/inappropriate/and or unnatural is so odd. Queer people are still people, and somebody's sexual orientation or identity shouldn't be so other worldly to people. I'm sick of feeling closed off and alienated simply because of who I love

And this scene is right after the torture too. You would think he would be more violent, but no. He wanted to hurt them, not break them.
Caine wanted them to listen. And because they never did, he made them feel what he felt when they poked at his biggest fears and insecurities.
