When Vampigami came out Alya saying her and Nino liked all the same things actually bugged me a bit but now after this episode it was actually such a small but clever way to set up The Chained Titans. Nino calls back to it saying "We really love the same things, don't we?" while actively lying about his feelings on strawberries. They don't actually like all the same things but the way his parents are made Nino think that disagreements between couples aren't something that can just exist naturally and peacefully, so he lies!

feligami umbrella scene

i thought just copy pasting the umbrella scene with feligami was boring, so i wanted felix to use the umbrella like a parasol and shield her from the red moon's light instead of rain (in reference to how she was one of the only people people he didn't snap away while they were under its light). their umbrella scene also didnt go nearly as well as adrienette's bc she obviously isnt gonna forgive him just because he said sorry. also i didnt want to use the exact same song as adrienette's, so i went with the music from the diamonds dance since that's where they met! plus it's a banger

i had a lot of fun trying to make it look more like an anime with the shot composition/subtitles as a reference to pv! i also wanted to make the contrast between the red moon's light and underneath the umbrella really apparent to drive felix's point home. it's been a while since i messed with particle systems so figuring that out again was difficult but i think they add a lot to the atmosphere :]

Hear me out - in s5 Gabriel's pancakes tasted bad cause he used a bad outdated recipe. Bad recipe = bad pancakes. He followed the recipe right thus the pancakes turned out to be as they were meant to be - bad.

Lately s6 made the picture of don't-let-her-near-the-kitchen Nathalie canon.

Nathalie is brains in a theoretical sense. Gabriel is an artist, he's all about practice. She explains & instructs, Gabriel executes. Givem them some IKEA furniture and Nathalie reads the instructions while Gabriel assembles the pieces.

These ain't just fanon but now actually canon.

the thing about cassiemichael is that he was her first friend. and cassie admitting that to him is presented as being just as important and raw and deeply vulnerable as michael expressing his romantic feelings for her and asking her to choose him. it arguably felt more vulnerable, to me. she is giving him her heart the way he gave his to hers once before, and they both know it. they both know that this is it. cassie is cracking open her ribcage before him and saying i can't choose you the way you wanted me to. i choose you like this. i offer you this. you're important to me like this. is this enough? can you choose me in this way? can this be enough? am i still important to you? is our friendship valuable to you? because it is valuable to me. is it still worth it even if it can't be what you wanted? am i? and michael can read all of this because it's what he does. and michael's answer is yes because he loves her more than he wants her, because he wanted to change for her and he did and it was in fact still worth it because she was his friend and they were family. and being her friend wasn't something to settle for but rather something important and intimate and true and special in its own way. that's the thing.

Apparently some people still need to hear this so: using an 'ai checker' is still using ai. If you are feeding someone's fic to one of these checkers, you will still not be sure their fic is ai because they are not 100% accurate, but you can be 100% sure that you are using ai. For fic. Furthermore you are doing the work of an ai scraper for them. You are, personally, feeding the machine. There is no actual excuse for using an ai checker on fanfic as a hobby. YOU are the problem.

If you think a fic is ai, mute it and move on. That's it. That's all you do.

so tired of people thinking taboo stuff in fiction equals taboo stuff in real life and “you’re a bad person if you write about it or enjoy it”. not to mention how harmful it is to reduce the severity of these things in real life by watering them down to dark fiction, my dude, humans have always enjoyed fiction that is taboo. otherwise there would be no horror movies or slasher movies or movies about wars and murders or any kind of media that wasn’t rainbow and sunshine.

just because you are personally uncomfortable with taboo stuff in fiction doesn’t mean your personal feelings are universal and it certainly doesn’t mean you get a free pass to harass others.

I’ve been into non-con fantasy ever since I was younger than 10 years old! I love reading and writing non-con fics, and I’ve been reading and writing them for almost a decade now. and guess what, I will never condone it in real life. nobody in real life is ever affected by the fictional things I enjoy, because it’s fiction and I am mature enough to separate it from reality. actually, even when I was younger than 10, I always knew that this thing I enjoyed was bad in real life. if a seven year old me could separate fiction from reality, you as an adult should be able to do it too — unless you’re deeply troubled, and in that case you need professional help.

no, you’re not morally better than anyone just because you don’t enjoy certain topics in fiction. you’re a bully if you think you can harass real people over fiction.

put your anger and energy on people who harm others in real life, instead of harassing innocent people for having thoughtcrimes.

I absolutely understand being nostalgic of the old animation style, but calling the new one ugly is midboggling to me. Have you stopped to appreciate the reflections in Tomoe's glasses recently?

I'm purposefully not picking one of the obvious shots (Ryuko and Lila reflected in her glasses in Yaksi Gozen and The Dirtifiers respectively) so you can see for yourselves the attention to detail and consistency that goes into it. Not a single bad frame detected, and trust me I've been looking at a lot of frames over the past few days. This + the sparkles on Marinette's new tights + the way they render individual hairs makes me feral. Is anyone else seeing this. Is that even allowed

I can agree that Kwami’s choice pretty much swung and missed about introducing an adrinette-centered arc in favor of ladynoir.

(it has some really fantastic adrinette lines though)

but like. ladynoir is on another level to me. there’s little that could touch that level of intimacy and something that essentially ties them together, their miraculous and duty, but there’s respect and admiration at the baseline for both of them. and they go beyond the necessary job description, and learned so much from each other.

so yeah anyway. to me, ladynoir is this beautiful, secretive yet trusting relationship, and any way you slice it to me, they care about each other. like, I think their talk in the beginning of Perfection is so sweet.

she asks him if his girl loves him back. he asks if she told her guy how she feels. their two biggest problems!!!! they care about each other so much.
