Hey.
When I said "drink more water" I didn't mean the stuff they store canned green beans in.

Some of the best writing insight I ever got came from the movie "Shadow of the Vampire."
"If it isn't in frame, it doesn't exist."
You can worldbuild all you want, create deep bios to inform your characters, but the only parts that *exist* are what the audience sees. The parts that tell the story. The world development outside the frame can be two big ideas and a cloud of implication; so long as what's *on the page* catches them, the audience won't care.
Focus your energy accordingly.
I’m paying to force seven thousand strangers to see a photo of my late husband having fun with his dog. Tumblr Blaze is totally worth it. XD
Thank-you to all of my new Internet stranger friends for being so gracious about having my post shoved onto your dashboards. I loved reading all of your kind tags and comments! Both Martin and Bosco have been gone for several years now but for 24 hours, they felt very present in my life. I greatly appreciate this gift. ❤️
Reblog to have your dashboard be visited by the spirit of joy that death can end but not erase.
Thank you to everyone who commented in their tags or messaged me. Indeed, today is “Martin and Bosco Day”. I originally whimsically blazed this photo on 13 July 2022. I never expected Martin and Bosco to travel so far and make so many new friends. The experience has been such a gift for me.
Reblog this post to cast Crumb of Serotonin on whoever you reblogged it from
Novels are real writing.
Short stories are real writing.
Nonfiction is real writing.
Poetry is real writing.
Fanfic is real writing.
Blog posts are real writing.
Prompting a clanker to make up words for you is not writing.
Memo to everybody :
Never be afraid to recycle an idea you had for a WIP you abandoned. Sometimes the idea needs a different set of characters or a different setting.
An addition:
Never be afraid to recycle an idea you had for a project you already completed. Sometimes ideas really are just that good and deserve to be used more than once.
Don't be afraid to use the same recipe to make a new cake
If any reviewers are willing to risk a few hundred followers by openly engaging with a taboo monster harem romance, hit me up.
And if anyone's curious what that even *is:*
Goblin Stepsister Obsession, available now on my personal site and Smashwords! (The sample on my site is way longer.)

just saw a "only one bed" fic with the major character death warning
#i guess that's one way to solve that problem
“This bed ain’t big enough for the both of us.”
@polteergeistt deserves a Tumblr award for this one! 🤣🤣😂
So, an indie author friend of mine (@narcissia_netal) is having an emergency sale. The details aren't mine to share but it's serious. If you can help out, please do.
I can guarantee their work isn't like anything else you've experienced.

Has this been done yet
stop letting miserable people on the internet convince you that you must have a concrete, well-constructed opinion on everything that has ever existed.
everybody say thank you Marcus Aurelius
Hey, do you like free stuff?
Because I just dropped free samples of my debut novel, Goblin Stepsister Obsession, in my shop.
Like basically all of my work, it's 18+, but if you've been curious whether I can actually sustain a story...

One thing I'm super proud of when it comes to my debut novel:
I didn't lose a f*cking cent to scammers. They swirl around Indie authors like piranhas: Fake beta readers, dubious editors, alleged promotional services, *vanity presses.*
They smell our hope, and think they can turn bleed us like rubes.
Not this bottle. Not today.
Do you have a themesong for your book?
@narcissia-netal made one for Goblin Stepsister Opression after we talked about the setting: The abiding loss, alienation, and oppression that goblins feel from living in a world built by and for humans. Even centuries after their ancestors emigrated.

The full atmospheric soundtrack comes out July 30th!
As Pride Month comes to an end, I just want to remind you that July is Disability Pride Month and there's a flag and everything!
Charcoal Grey: Mourning for people who have died due to ableist violence, abuse, suicide, and illness
Red Stripe: Physical disabilities
Gold Stripe: Neurodiversity
Blue Stripe: Emotional and psychiatric disabilities
Green Stripe: Sensory disabilities
White Stripe: Undiagnosed and invisible disabilities
I love this so much.
