Clouded

You always so elegantly reconstructed me after I was shattered. So I clung to you with everything I had, only to realize, when the fog had cleared, that you were the one holding the hammer every time. So many times you had to rebuild me, it's no wonder that I'm slightly crooked, still with a few scars, still with a few pieces missing.

Perhaps there will come a day where you find a new pair of eyes to gaze into, or a new pair of lips to trace with your fingers. A day may come where my voice in your ears has tired out, and you may hear a new siren song that lulls your senses. Yes, that day may come, and I would feel a great deal of sorrow for the shortcoming of our lovely dalliance. But I would let you go. I would stroke your face and kiss you ever so gently, just enough to leave you with one final taste that your mouth will long for until you learn to live without it. And perhaps, when I did let you go, I let you go with such grace and elegance, that the dust of our love that you had perceived to have been collecting on your soul was suddenly wiped clean, and all you want is to start it again. It's alright sweetheart. I forgive you. I pray that you found what you were searching for. -S
