You guys, I reblogged this 2 days ago out of desperation. Today I was looking through my old wallet for coins to go to the vending machine because that’s all I can fucking afford. I haven’t touched this thing since July/ August. When I found a disappointing 15 cents in the coin pocket I went to the billfold to see if any coins were in there. That’s when I saw them. 5 crisp bills amounting to $22. I literally screamed and danced around my room out of joy before remembering that I’d reblogged this post.

Love is not bound by anything....

Love is love its not bound by a specific means. I love blue, you love pink. I dont hate you or say you're going to hell for loving pink. We all love different things like animals, colors, hobbies. Why is love for a gender such a big deal? I love both girls and boys, but does that make me a bad person? I love cats and dogs and blue and black. Love is limitless and timeless, we love what we love. Why is that so hard?

Society.....

Society, we all say its bad. We all say its cruel and it doesn't control us that we don't have to listen to what it tells us. But we are the ones who created it. You must be smart, your stupid if you don’t have good grades. Boys cant wear this and that because its girly,  girls cant wear this and that because its for boys. But how did it all begin, when did society tell us how to live our lives? Oh right when we told ourselves we couldn't. Society didn’t create us, we created society.

Context to the story:

The girl cut her hair once so that she could have bangs. The mother disapproved and decided to cut off 15" of her hair as punishment. The girl later again decided to change her hair style and the above was the result; she shaved her daughters head.

Having a few personal experiences with this kind of invasive behaviour it really hurts to see someone go through these kinds of things, where the parent tries to live vicariously through their childs life, to attempt to shape them and make their decisions for them depending on what THEY would do and give their child NO independence or self expression.

Thankfully, this mother thought her actions were 100% justifiable and posted it to Facebook as a bit of a “haha, teach my kid a lesson” and has been hit with brutal recrimination from her community and has had visits from Child Protective Services.

For so many young (and older) girls their hair is their self expression, and in several months I hope this girl will have hers back.
