So I’m finally reading Catalyst because I guess I’m stuck with Krennic in my head now. I swear this isn’t just a Krennic fan account now even though my last couple posts have in fact been about him. I just have a lot of feelings. Good and bad. Over this middle aged fictional man.

This piece has been such an excellent challenge. Originally commissioned by my friend Kal, I really wanted to do a piece that would be unique and powerful.

Anakin is the man around which the galaxy is shaped, and who has shaped the galaxy, for better and for much much worse. Such a pivotal figure deserved a cool concept.

The Revenge of the Sith novel has this really interesting internal monologue - Anakin referring to his fear, his anger, and his frustrations as a dragon, curling and burning in his heart. As soon as I heard that, I HAD to run with it.

The dragon is based on a SWTOR asset, and it was a lot of fun to do a much rougher, shading style to push the contrasts.

And of course, the shadow of Vader was the fun final touch.
