"Hollis?" -Brian
Class had let out for the afternoon and Hollis was still in his office, grading some papers and figuring out his lesson plan for the next day. He had been pretty behind with it, which wasnāt a good thing considering Law took some planning. Oh, well. He needed a break. People couldnāt blame him for that.Ā
The male had his head down, writing away, when he heard a voice at the doorway of his office. At first, he didnāt lift his head. He just sat there and marinated in the sound. There had been several maleās around the school that always sounded eerily similar to his best friend, Brian, but never had one sounded that similar. It sent chills up his spine but he didnāt pay much attention to it. Brian was gone. That was a fact.
Finally, he lifted his head and he saw who was there.
It was Brian.
His bright blue eyes widened and he just stared at the other from his chair. How could this be happening? Was the school playing another trick on everyone? This was one was crossing the line. But the scent coming from the other made him believe that it wasnāt a trick. That it really was him. Standing up from his desk, he didnāt even bother to grab his cane. He just hobbled over to Brian and stood before him,Ā āThis canāt be realā¦ā Hollis spoke quietly,Ā āTell me this a spell or something.ā

When he was pulled into Hollisā arms, Brian wrapped his own tightly around the man. He took a deep breath, wanting to remember this moment. The hug was like no other one theyād had before, it was full of need, sorrow, happiness. It was almost like if Brian let go of Hollis, he would lose him again.
āWhere have I been? Where the fuck have you been?ā Brian asked jokingly. āI thought you were dead, after everything that happened that night. And then I came here, and I met Qhuinn. She told me she knew you and that you were here, I couldnāt believe it.ā Brian thought about the moment he was first told about Hollis being in the school. āShe took me on a walk, got me out of the cells, you know?ā
The hug continued on for longer than it probably should have but at that moment, Hollis didnāt care about awkward moments. He just was surprised and thrilled that his friend was alive. As soon as he saw Brian, it was like a weight was lifted off of his shoulders, as selfish as that sounded. He carried around the guilt of what happened to him and his friends every day of his life. Stewart, Mark and Alex...they were gone. Hollis couldnāt save them. But he tried his hardest to save Brian and it seemed that it worked. Right?
Finally, Hollis released the other and he listened to him speak, his head nodding,Ā āSounds like Qhuinn.ā He chuckled,Ā āIām sure the moment she realized you were the Brian, she turned into Momma Bear.ā He chuckled. Hollis patted his friend on the shoulder before he began to move towards the door,Ā āTake a seat. We have...some catching up to do.ā That was no lie. He closed the door to his classroom before he hobbled back to his desk and plopped down. He immediately pushed all of his papers to the side and focused his full attention on Brian,Ā āWhat are you doing here, man? Are you that hard up for money?ā
