With a sigh, she picks up the girdle gifted to her by Hephaestus - a symbol of his love. As she wears it around her waist, her form becomes stable. She sees her beautiful self - a beauty that she’d defined for herself. As she starts smiling, the girdle tightens around her. She suddenly realises it’s been cursed. Not by Hephaestus, but by her own deed. She had cheated on his love. Smokes arise from the girdle, choking her. She doesn’t scream. She accepts it because this wasn’t a curse–it was a true love’s revenge on her. The smoke intensifies as the girdle tightens more, squeezing her bit by bit. At last, the it falls to the ground with a clang and sits there. The beauty it had adorned is no more alive.
