Can we talk about how after only knowing each other for two weeks these fools were already capable of silently having an entire conversation through a one-way mirror. I mean-

The first spark of that conic connection. Like, boom!

I headcanon that the night Scully was discharged from the hospital following her remission, she nervously (and so, so afraid of rejection) calls Mulder and tentatively asks if she can stay at his place...her family has left and she doesn't want to be alone. Of course he says yes, and totally intends to give Scully the bed and sleep on the couch, but she softly asks if he can hold her until she falls asleep.

And so he holds her in the dark and she's still so thin and small and cold from the chemo but he keeps reminding himself that she's alive and she's going to gain her strength and spirit back. He just watches her sleep and thanks a God he doesn't believe in for giving her back to him and he agonizes over how he's going to tell her he loves her. Because he does...he loves her so much. And he's been given a second chance to love her.

But he doesn't tell her. Not that night, not that morning, and not the next day. They never talk about that night they fell asleep in each other's arms.
