This was during my 35 day radiation treatment back in 2013. Breast cancer isn’t sexy. It’s not about saving the boobies. It’s not about no bra day, which is really just an excuse for women to post sexy pics of their nipples pressing through their clothes. It’s scars, nausea, pain, bald heads, burnt skin, and broken hearts.

If this doesn’t make you “aware” then I don’t know what will. 

Does it make you uncomfortable? It should.

Reasons You and Your Family Need a Flu Shot this Year (note, some links are smart, some are silly…it’s up to you to find out which ones are which)

You are alive and would like to do all you can to continue the trend for the foreseeable future. 

You can be protected against the major strains of the flu virus that are circulating this year. (And hey, an average of 60% protection is better than 0% protection.)

You’re a teacher or health care worker. You are literally surrounded by dozens of  walking Petri dishes on a daily basis. Even those of us with superior immune systems are outnumbered and need some extra protection.  

You are an intelligent person who understands that the miniscule amounts of preservative that may or may not be in your vaccine won’t give you autism.  

Can you really afford to take 3 days off from work and lay on the couch (or a hospital bed) all miserable like? I didn’t think so. 

You are pregnant. You know that giant parasite inside of you? As it turns out, he kind of squishes things inside you and significantly decreases your lung volume and reserve. So if you get sick while pregnant, you could get real sick. Like dead sick. Also, your unborn baby’s immune system is only as good as your immune system, so why not help the lil fella out a bit?

You work in a hospital. Unless you have a valid contraindication to getting the shot, you are probably required to get the shot. Don’t get fired over a little prick. (Don’t be one, get one.)

Admit it, your Lil Jimmy, smart as he is, is already a bit behind in math. Help him avoid missing school. A boy needs to know his times tables. 

You won’t pass the flu on to your friend, fetus, family member, patient, or that random old man with COPD who’s always power-walking in Wal-mart who has a weaker immune system than you. Thus, YOU CAN LITERALLY SAVE LIVES.

You decide to claim the she-wolf's cave, by force. She is vulnerable while she is still in her human form, and the Change - from human to wolf, or vice versa - should take her a couple of seconds to complete. But by the time she has

completed that Change, you could have already crushed her windpipe. You lunge at the she-wolf, but are slowed down by the food in your stomach and by the weakness in your limbs. But instead of meeting human flesh, your claws meet Wolf-Born skin, and furious scarlet eyes meet your eyes before she launches you into the air with a deft kick of her hind legs. You land in a pile on the ground, and with a growl, you rise to face the Wolf-Born. She starts to push herself up with low growl, and while she does so, cranes her head around to glare at you. She rises to her feet as well and approaches you, ears pinned back against the back of her head, huge canines bared as a threat, and her long, black tail raised in the air - a hint of her dominance here in this place.

Both the scarlet eyes and the unnatural speed at wich she Changed, are unsettling to you. Even trained, adult Wolf-Born take at least three to four seconds to complete their Change. Any shorter than that is unheard of. You’ve never seen someone complete the Change in the blink of an eye, yet this blood-red eyed she-wolf in front of you really did manage to do so. And if she’s capable of Changing in less than second, then what are the other feats she’s capable of? You're not sure if you can beat her in your current state..

One of the first ‘serious’ pieces of digital art that I created for an interactive fiction project. It started only months ago. The chaos. Disorder. Destruction.Mankind had long grown numerous and powerful, and their ways upset the Earth's ecosystems. But when the last straw broke the camel's back, there was no turning back. Nature's vengeance was scary, indeed. Continuous wars left mankind broken and bickering amongst themselves. Famine and disease soon followed. And finally, there were disasters of nature, which eradicated much of what was left of the human world.But mankind survived, through a feat of brilliance, as they would say.But little did they know that not only man and several hardy animal species had survived.. Living alongside humans, although hidden from their eyes, were the Wolf-Born - beings of both man and wolf. They too, survived, but their numbers hadn't decreased as much as that of the humans.But now that the human settlements were mostly destroyed, there was no place for Wolf-Born in the cities. Generations of Wolf-Born before you already whispered of the Wolf-Born land, which was shielded from humans through magic, or something else.Dozens of Wolf-Born had already gone in search for the Wolf-Born land, and now, it is your turn..
