__________ Dinah was seriously less scary than an angry Babs, unless you really put her to the limit. However, she knew that the teen respected her, & would take her threats for true. Dinah’s eyes though, never betrayed her. Sleeves rolled up to elbows, she sighed when watching the disaster ; she had others plans right now. But God knew she used to be that kind of teen too, & she always appreciated when her cool JSA uncles got her out of troubles from her mother. Where to start though ? She opened the cupboards under the skin for some dishwashing liquid, Dinah, who barely cleaned up her own apartment, was now on fatigue duty. As she started to scratch all the mix from the kitchen counters, she turned in Charlie’s direction with brow quirked, “ Not a boy magnet ? ” she pointed at the ginger with her own sponge, as a fair warning, “ Good, you’ll quickly figure out boys of your age are boring. Plus, no boy around. ” Though the comment made about Barbara got her & made her smile, “ I hope for you she doesn’t spy us… which… ” & then it hit her, “ Even though I’m not ratting you out, she’ll know. She knows everything, & she actually watches her security cams once a week. ” & of course, she’ll know she helped her here.
“ Mhm, yes. ” Babs always had her fridge full, so she knew she wouldn’t be disappointed by getting a stop by here. “ I mean patrol. ” & even if she was on a super secret mission, she wouldn’t divulge to Charlie, for her own safety always. “ A couple of thugs, nothing really bad, but the GCPD arrived right when I disappeared, I believe they could handle them after I knocked them both out. Anyway, shouldn’t you be at home ? & by that I mean, your home. ”
Charlie snorted. There was no point in ruining the mood, she guessed, to mention her deep distrust towards boys and men in general that stemmed from watching her mother interact with her bad boyfriends, specifically her little brother’s father before he split and left them alone. Besides, that was probably in her file or whatever -- Oracle kept files on all her people and she knew everything there was about anyone at all times. So instead, Charlie said, “I don’t like them much anyway. I’m much more of a Zac Efron fan. Or Justin Timberlake. Most boys my age are ...” Charlie considered a moment, scrubbing the ceiling for a moment. “... Sticky.” Her nose wrinkled and she shook her head, before glancing over at her. “You know,” Charlie started, grimly, “I’d be surprised if she doesn’t already know and is just waiting to ground my a- butt -” Could she say the word ass in front of the Black Canary? Was that allowed?? “- And is just waiting for a not horrible hour to do it.” She shook her head. “I dunno why she watches those feeds anyway, nothing exciting ever happens.”
“Sounds like you had a slow night,” Charlie said, focusing on a particular part of the batter smudged ceiling. “Dunno, though, you might be giving the GCPD too much credit.” Charlie mumbled the last bit under her breath, shaking her head. But she glanced at Dinah as she asked why she wasn’t at home. “Couldn’t sleep,” Charlie responded easily. Not the exact truth, but it was an innocent enough lie that she probably wouldn’t get called on it. “Decided to bake to make it better. You know - the usual.”
