Part 2 for @fortnite-ether Part 1 here Dark hummed as she waled with Ether to go get the ball. “Hey, dont beat yourself up over it. Its just a simple mistake, nothing major.” she saw the ball roll to a stop near a uphill slope, she nudged Ether a little “See? It didnt go too far.”

“Yeah, your right, it wasn’t that big of a mistake.” He ran over to get the ball on top of the slope and brought it back. “Well, I got it.”

Dark chuckled as she stood aside and watched him scramble up the slope. She stood and waited as he grabbed the ball and ran back. “Nice one, you gonna throw it back in there? or carry it back?” She turned on her heal as she spoke

He attempted to throw it into the goal in the court, it completely bounced off but stayed inside the court. “Worth a try anyway.”

Dark hissed a little and snapped her fingers, she opened the gate to the court and she stepped aside, keeping the gate open for Ether. “eh, you got close man.” She then waited for Ether to get back to the court “Plus it was rather ambitious”

He walked back into the court. ““Sports just aren’t my thing. Never been good at them.” It was getting closer to night it seemed like.

Dark chuckled as she closed the gate behind them  “Believe me, if it aint running i ant that good at it.” She bit her lip as she grabbed the ball, she tossed it in her hands and she took a quick shot, it bounced off the inner ring of the hoop and back onto the floor. “Argh, maybe one of us can get it in before sundown.”

He took the ball and attempted to hit it in. It bounced off the rim, and right in his face

Dark winced watching at what happened to Ether  “Jesus christ, you okay?” She got closer to check on where the ball hit, it didnt look like it hit hard, but looking is different then experiencing.

The ball had bounced off and broke his face mask. “Ow..oh no. I have to get this fixed fast!”

Dark sighed as she knelt down and grabbed parts of his face mask that broke off. “Eh you made it right? It will take time but you made it before, it will be okay dude.”

“Oh no no no, this is bad i gotta get home to fix this..”

Dark sighed lightly as she looked around for any more fragments.  “man... thats gotta such.... you gonna get it fixed?” She looked at him a bit worried, he seemed to be really attached to the mask, well he did make it after all so it wouldnt be that hard to fix, right?

Dark was just chilling in an open baseball court, she had managed to find a open spot for herself and was trying to get the ball into the hoop over and over, she wasnt frustrated through. Even through failure she kept dribbling the ball around and trying to shoot for the hoop.

Yet, she lacked any professionalism, she was just to score a hoop for the hell of it, throwing haphazardly. She grinned as she went to try and bounce the ball off the backboard to then fall into the hoop, yet she misjudged everything about it, the ball ricocheted in a way that it was going to hit her in the face, she raised her arms in shock but as the ball made contact with her arms, a small cracking noise rippled through the quite air. She looked at the ball and saw a small smoke trail from its side. She sighed and picked it up and turned it around a little. She noticed one of her runes marks on it. She frowned as she looked at it closer. It wasnt too big and there was no color change, she sighed as she went back to dribbling the basket ball around the court. She hoped no-one had heard it. Otherwise, it was gonna be a long explanation process. She went back to trying to score, but with a frown on her face.

“Looks like your having a little trouble there.” Ether said while watching from the back of the court. “Personally I’m not good at sports either. What’s with the weird symbol on the ball?” His voice sounded a bit different due to the mask/filter on his mouth. He walked over up beside her, just really looking at the rune on the ball.

Dark turned her head towards the him speak and she sighed a little  “Didnt see ya there, well, if you dont recognize the rune then. Well i assume you dont know about the old island? Athena?” She turned and held out a hand, along with the basketball, it had a small rune with. It had 3 lines in total, 2 at a 45 degree angle and they where both perpendicular to each other, the bottom one shorter then the top one, a third small line was the smallest line just up and to the right of the main two lines.

“Oh I’m From the old island! Yeah I first came there around..when did that town get blown up by a volcano? Sometime after that I came. But I don’t recognize a symbol like that.” He looked down cautiously at her hand.

“oh that would be… the end of the 8th season, before Neo Tilted and Mega Mall was constructed and we entered the 9th season.”  She held out the ball in her hand and she shrugged “Its just decoration from what I know. Just sigils that pulses on me every now and then, i think its due to what makes me. Well, live.” Dark smiled as she kept her hand held out, he did want to check the ball out after all.

“Hey thats a pretty cool ‘power’ of yours!” He tried to make this seem better, he was trying to be her friend.

Dark let out a small smile but clenched her teeth though, she never had any sort of these powers before. Not any self defense ones anyway. She nodded and put a hand on her hip  “Yeah well, its similar to the cube which… shouldn’t surprise me but still does.” She sighed and looked at Ether “What about you? Whats your story? before the old island?”

“Oh me? I dont have anything special about me. Well the outfit, i made this before i came to the old island.” He pulls off his face mask. “But im just a normal person..”

Dark nodded slowly as she took the ball and tried a long shot for the hoop, it bounced off the backboard and rolled on the floor, she turned back to Ether and shrugged  “So you have a interest in fashion design? Cause ill admit, that design does look good on you Ether.”

“Well thanks, but no, i just decided to one day. I like techy kind of stuff so i made a jacket, and a face mask. Your outfit dosent look bad either.”

Dark took a quick look at her own attire and she simply shrugged as she picked up the basket ball again, bouncing it on the ground as she walked towards Ether with a neutral expression  “Thank you, but its just my… natural outfit? I didnt design it. You on the other hand though, you look like you could open a fashion line with your clothing ideas.”

“Oh nah, thats not really my kind of thing. I just made it to really well..have something better to wear.” He shrugged and had a normal expression.

Dark simply nodded and she tried to score another hoop, it bounced off the back board and rolled back to her, close but no cigar. She gave a frustrated sigh and picked up the ball, turning back to Ether. “I can understand that but… if fashion design isn’t your thing, what is it that you do? Are you a lone wanderer just looking around the new island?”

“Well I guess you can say that.” He sighed and thought about the same thing he thinks about everyday, what he wants to do on this new island.

Dark shrugged and passed him the ball “Well, it will come with time, we all find our callings eventually.” She stepped back as she watched on, curious to see what he would do with the ball “find what you enjoy, it always takes time and there isnt anything wrong with that. Do tasks you love, embrace hobbies you enjoy. Find yourself”

“…yeah.” He attempted to shoot the ball into the hoop, but completely missed. It went way over to the goal. He stood there embarresed. “…”

Dark hummed as she watched him take the attempt, when he threw the ball over the fence of the court she hissed a little and looked to him “ehe, guess we both dont know our own strength.” She put a hand on his shoulder, she smiled a little and brought him over to the gate to the court. “Come on, lets go get it. Its okay to mess up here and there.”

Dark held her arm and through about the question for a long moment. She sighed as she turned her head to the side“at this stage... Id say its unlikely. I need to figure out who... I am. Through my memories, both good and bad. When I know what I was ill be comfortable going forward. But... if im honest with myself, im not saying its impossible.”She sighed as she flashed back a little. Before nodding in contempt.

“Oh I’m From the old island! Yeah I first came there around..when did that town get blown up by a volcano? Sometime after that I came. But I don’t recognize a symbol like that.” He looked down cautiously at her hand.

“oh that would be… the end of the 8th season, before Neo Tilted and Mega Mall was constructed and we entered the 9th season.”  She held out the ball in her hand and she shrugged “Its just decoration from what I know. Just sigils that pulses on me every now and then, i think its due to what makes me. Well, live.” Dark smiled as she kept her hand held out, he did want to check the ball out after all.

Dark let out a small smile but clenched her teeth though, she never had any sort of these powers before. Not any self defense ones anyway. She nodded and put a hand on her hip  “Yeah well, its similar to the cube which… shouldn’t surprise me but still does.” She sighed and looked at Ether “What about you? Whats your story? before the old island?”

“Oh me? I dont have anything special about me. Well the outfit, i made this before i came to the old island.” He pulls off his face mask. “But im just a normal person..”

Dark nodded slowly as she took the ball and tried a long shot for the hoop, it bounced off the backboard and rolled on the floor, she turned back to Ether and shrugged  “So you have a interest in fashion design? Cause ill admit, that design does look good on you Ether.”

“Well thanks, but no, i just decided to one day. I like techy kind of stuff so i made a jacket, and a face mask. Your outfit dosent look bad either.”

Dark took a quick look at her own attire and she simply shrugged as she picked up the basket ball again, bouncing it on the ground as she walked towards Ether with a neutral expression  “Thank you, but its just my... natural outfit? I didnt design it. You on the other hand though, you look like you could open a fashion line with your clothing ideas.”

Dark was just chilling in an open baseball court, she had managed to find a open spot for herself and was trying to get the ball into the hoop over and over, she wasnt frustrated through. Even through failure she kept dribbling the ball around and trying to shoot for the hoop.

Yet, she lacked any professionalism, she was just to score a hoop for the hell of it, throwing haphazardly. She grinned as she went to try and bounce the ball off the backboard to then fall into the hoop, yet she misjudged everything about it, the ball ricocheted in a way that it was going to hit her in the face, she raised her arms in shock but as the ball made contact with her arms, a small cracking noise rippled through the quite air. She looked at the ball and saw a small smoke trail from its side. She sighed and picked it up and turned it around a little. She noticed one of her runes marks on it. She frowned as she looked at it closer. It wasnt too big and there was no color change, she sighed as she went back to dribbling the basket ball around the court. She hoped no-one had heard it. Otherwise, it was gonna be a long explanation process. She went back to trying to score, but with a frown on her face.

What’s with the weird symbol on the ball?” His voice sounded a bit different due to the mask/filter on his mouth. He walked over up beside her, just really looking at the rune on the ball.
