Christ, it’s ugly. The ladies at his knitting class wouldn’t know what to do with themselves if they saw this thing. There’s not enough fake sympathy in the world to muster a convincing ‘oh, wow, that’s nice,’ which would be a problem for anyone but Tony because he loves it, in all its hideous glory. Between his initial awe and his effort to pull the sweater over his head the second it was given to him, he barely manages a muffled thank you in her direction. He’s planning to reiterate his graduate once he his head pokes through the collar because this really is a great gift, as thoughtful and ugly as it is, and he knows he’s going to wear this sweater as often as he can because his best friend put in the time to make it for him and there’s nothing more impressive than that. In fact, every time he wears it, he’s going to tell people about how much he appreciates his best friend–

she’s pretty OBVIOUS with her excitement, watching him pull the sweater over his head. she even makes an attempt to help him, smoothing the material down for him. masika had taken nearly three weeks putting it together, she was never good when it came to things like this. but she appreciates that he takes it anyway, looks happy with it as well. she’s busy looking him over, lingering on a piece of loose thread that she had failed to notice before she’d givn it to him.
