Rhaena Targaryen, the second surviving babe of King Aerys and Queen Rhaella, born 10 years after prince Rhaegar. The common-folk of kings-landing were delighted at the healthy birth of the princess, who was shown off immediately, some claiming it was to find a betrothal for the little babe already, though nothing came of it.
While Prince Rhaegar was talented in music his sister delighted in dancing along, wherever the prince was performing the young princess could be found twirling her skirts and waving her hands to her brother's music.
While Rhaena loved her brother, her loyalties shifted to her sister-in-law, Elia, soon after the marriage and she delighted in listening to the tales Elia had from Dorne. The maesters and midwives shared similar tales of the princess bursting into tears at the sight of her niece, princess Rhaenys and later prince Aegon when they were born, more emotional than her brother.
It was no surprise when Rhaena was found at Maegor's Holdfast with Elia during the siege instead of being taken away with Rhaella and Viserys. While the knights searched the building and Sir Clegane slaughtered the 3, Rhaena was found, and caught, moments away from throwing herself out the window and onto the spikes below after witnessing the deaths of her little niece and nephew.Â
Dragged through the streets behind the bodies, Rhaena listened as the people who were brave enough to come out their homes and shops shouted, kingslayer and kinslayer, accusing her! Of all people, accusing her! She did nothing, she was sure theyâd be glad she wasnât dead like the rest of them, the last targaryen in kings-landing, their saving grace eventually, she was sure of it!
But the looming threat of death was above her, she knew theyâd give her to that Baratheon boy to slaughter her, heâd killed her brother and now she was next, why else was she alive? Staring directly down at the stone infront of her she had to keep in her dry heaves at the trail of blood being left behind from the bodies of Rhaenys, Aegon, and Elia as they were paraded through the streets and to the Red Keep.
The yelling of voices, flapping of flags, and sound of hooves alerted Rhaena theyâd made it to the Red keep, flags of stark, lannister, and baratheon, traitors, traitors, traitors, all of them, staying proudly like they hadnât killed their king and crown prince, and everyone dear to them. The halls were quiet, but the closer to the throne-room the more voices picked up and the horrible sickening thwack as bodies were dropped infront of her and the Baratheon man, he wasnât a boy, Rhaena learned now, but a large man.Â
With a gasp Rhaena slammed into the floor, the body of Rhaenys inches from her, and shes glad she hadnât eaten anything or else it wouldâve come up quicker then she could realize. Another gasp came from above her âThey were just babesâ said a voice, thick with a northern accent as a scoff came, deep and rumbly âtheyâre dragonspawnsâ a gruff voice said, quarreling filled the room as Rhaena weeped after the bodies infront of her âwhat should we do about her, though?â Ser Clegane said, hoisting her head up by her hair as Rhaena yelped, staring at the two large men infront of her, her heart almost barreling through her chest, what was to be done to her?
