You should absolutely call him out on it.

For instance, the next time you’re all together and this friend says something shitty, pause and say, “Care to elaborate on that?” He’ll either say something unsubtle enough that other people will be disgusted, or back down. Do it every single time. Don’t let him get away with it. Eventually he’ll get it trained out of him.

Stupid men are very simple. Essentially, treat a stupid man like you’d treat a dog – with repetition and reinforcement of what is correct behavior.
