then I listened to it with English translation.
then I just read the songs. When you read the songs they read just like Sufi poetry, love poems for God, maybe love poems for GD, maybe a fantastical literary autobiography painted with renaissance water colour and blurred tones of surrealist art. He’s writing about sothebys but he really made a collection of auditory art that’s fit for sothebys.
it genuinely pulled me back to the days before social media existed. A writer like top is the antithesis of a viral TikTok song. You must listen with different lenses then read with different viewpoints. You must swap your senses with your body parts to truly truly absorb it.
and the craziest thing the most genius thing; the literary style translates perfectly from Korean into English.
At the end of the day, as I tried my best not to relate any of the songs to GTOP to avoid succumbing to my old biased feelings, I can’t help but remember these lyrics over and over again:
