yo, the movie hasn’t even come out yet. can we stop assuming that nagini isn’t going to be a fucking beautiful and complex character? can we stop assuming that we know all there is to know about maledictuses, in turn assuming that the nagini we thought we knew is suddenly a tortured soul forced to obey men?

we know literally nothing about her. we don’t know what she’s like, how she thinks, where her allegiances lie (and where they’ll lie, years to come), what becomes of her when she turns into a snake, how she comes to meet voldemort, how they bond the way they do. [because they do bond. y’all are acting like voldemort straight up abused nagini, when it’s canon that there was no one that he trusted more than her.]

it’s good fun to reblog sirius black’s “light and dark” quote, but here’s where we have to wait and watch it apply, even when we think we already know the outcome. from a series that has given us so many powerful female characters, you can troy bolton bet on it that i’m excited to meet nagini (and leta).

and if her story is fated to end in tragedy, i don’t think that should be taken as racist. it’ll be tragic end to a beautiful character. something the HP fandom are no strangers to. they know what they’re doing. claudia kim knows what she’s doing. goddammit, let her have her moment! she’s so excited!
