Iâm not bothering with this person, but this comment just made me wanna puke.
SO APPARENTLY because a handful of people donât like Alex and one or two people said he was an âoverpaid cosplayerâ that means that NONE of us deserve his, the cast and crew, or literally anyoneâs kindness.
I know this is difficult for you to understand, but his opinion DOESNâT matter. Any more than yours does. Tim Burton himself could come out against the ship and it still WOULDNâT MATTER. People love the ship and just because someone says it bothers them, no matter who it is, doesnât mean theyâre just going to stop. He could be the face of Beetlejuice for the rest of his life and it still wouldnât matter to me one way or the other.
Heâs more than happy to have his opinions and theyâre right that we would have shoved it back in their faces had he leaned in our favor, but you canât tell me that you wouldnât have done the same thing in our shoes? Would you have been totally okay with the ship had Alex said he was cool with it? No, of course not. You would have said âIt didnât matter, you guys are still p*dosâ. So, donât come at us just because we didnât roll over and take it like a good girl because the SAME EXACT THING would have happened had it been the other way around. In fact, it probably would have been a lot worse because you guys would have harassed him to death. You would have disowned him, called the police on him, and maybe sent more death threats his way. Yâall prolly would have tried to ruin his whole career because he would have been a âp*doâ or a âp*do apologistâ. So shut the hell up. Just because we say âoh wellâ and move on, that makes us shallow? People donât like him and thatâs okay. There are plenty of people who do like him, myself included. Not all actors are liked, thatâs part of being an actor. Not every person in the world is liked by every person, but EVERYONE deserves kindness so fuck off.
I am appreciative that he was nice about it. Iâm appreciative that he seems like a genuinely nice person that goes out of his way to include everyone, but it shouldnât matter. No one is harassing him. No one is bothering him. No one should have even bothered him with the question in the first place because he shouldnât be included in shipping discourse. AT ALL. None of the actors, cast or crew should ever get involved in fandom discourse. Itâs not their place to say anything about it and I had hoped that they would continue to be silent, but I donât control them. Itâs their Twitters and they can say whatever they want.
Iâm trying to be done talking about this. Iâve almost reblogged things from a handful of people, but decided against it, but this was just disgusting. People like this piss me off. Just because someone doesnât like an actor, or even is vocal about them not liking them, they arenât deserving of kindness? Seriously? And itâs not like you just singled out the people who say they donât like them, but ALL of the beetlebabes? Because of one or two people?
NEWSFLASH: NOT EVERYONE HAS THE SAME THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS.
Alex worked hard to be where he is. Itâs not like he just happened upon it. Obviously heâs not just an overplayed cosplayer. He made sacrifices to be where he is and worked his ass off same as any other Broadway actor. Itâs people like you that make him look bad, not us. I genuinely feel so bad for him because he has to deal with people like this on a daily basis. He said he wanted everyone to get along, but I guess you people just arenât going to allow that to happen, now are you? Looks to me like youâre doing the exact OPPOSITE of what he asked for you to do. I guarantee heâd be disappointed in you had he saw this post, but oh well.

Am I disappointed? Of course I am, thatâs why this post is getting typed, but in the end it doesnât matter. Heâs just an actor. My thoughts and opinions shouldnât be affected just because something that makes me happy makes other people, even the actor himself, uncomfortable. That is a valid opinion and no one is upset at him for thinking so. In the end, it still makes me happy and thatâs all that matters. People are allowed to be uncomfortable with a ship in the same way as Iâm allowed to love my ship unapologetically.
Be kind to each other. Create. Try to get along. Those are the messages that Alex has said over and over and over again. If you truly looked up to him the way you seem to, then thatâs what you should be holding onto.Â
EVERYONE is deserving of kindness.
