"I have the right to do anything, but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything." ~1 Corinthians 6:12 This month's @jpcc theme is #Freedom. And as Christians, through Jesus's sacrifice we earned Freedom. It doesn't mean that we are free to do what we want, what our heart's desires. It means that we are able to exercise our free will without being mastered by anything in this world, because we have earned God's grace & mercy. 3 points are necessary to allow us in exercising this freedom God has given: #1 Stay Rooted in Christ, which means we need to keep ourselves close to Him and His words we read through the Holy Bible. . #2 Get Planted in a Communityz That way, we are able to manage our desires and keep ourselves from being mastered by them (Proverbs 18:1) "Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment." . #3 Starts Serving. When freedom is focused on our own selves, it will be counterproductive, therefore use our freedom to bring good to others and to the world. . . Activity: How do you sort out your priorities? Hello & welcome back @datekg36 members after the looong holiday! Today, @paulleeman shares our @jpcc's monthly theme: #OVERFLOW, summarizing the insights from last week's services at both The Kasablanka & UpperRoom. #swipeleft ⬅️ . . Contrasting how the world perceives living in the overflow vs. how Jesus wants us to perceive it, helps us to understand the concept of living in the overflow, in which #1 The key is to #feel that what we have is #enough. The world teaches us that unless you live in overflow, then you'll never feel enough. But the Jesus way is the other way around! When you decide to feel enough, then you'll live in the overflow. How exactly can we live in the overflow? #2 Truly living in the overflow requires #learning; it is not given because we are born in the world where we must go with its flow. "Not that I speak from [any personal] need, for I have #learned to be content [and self-sufficient through Christ, satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or uneasy] regardless of my circumstances." Philippians 4:11. What will we experience once we live in the overflow? #3 The #direction of our lives will be from inside out; we are no longer bound with what we have in order to give others blessings, #4 We put others first before ourselves, & we enjoy #giving more than receiving (Luke 6:38), Finally, once we live in the overflow, what will we feel every day? #5 We are no longer worried about the future, nor we see our present as only means to achieve overflowing life.
