Seth sigh loudly. He felt honestly felt numb. To face the fact his brother was dead was one thing but to have to clean his business up was a whole other thing and frankly he didn’t know how to. “If it’s not in his name look for Michailov.” Seth sigh as he leaned back. “He used fake pretty much everything since it wouldn’t show he had a criminal record when traveling.”
He could not believe this even was something they had to think about. “No…. I just don’t want to make things worse for Chelsea. Poor girl hasn’t been the same since that happened.” Seth replied thinking about that only made things worse. It felt like it all was his fault even if Seth fully knew, if he had asked Marcus he would have been at the ER with a broken nose at best. “I don’t….. I just want to know if it was him. If he pay her hush money…. Well then i know it was him that almost beat her to death.” he said quietly, feeling how his voice started to crack. Like he had not been crying enough these last hours. It felt like this was just a absolute nightmare that he soon enough would wake up from. But no…. This was real life and it wouldn’t change. He just had to accept that his brother was a monster. A monster that Seth himself protected for over 30 years.
“Michailov…Got it…” Again, she took her notepad and scribbled in it, then filled their glasses. “…This is very honorable of you S-Oh, oh babe….Oh Seth…..You did what you could with what you had….Oh babe….” But before Ariadne could hand him his drink, Seth started crumbling under her very own eyes. She embraced him tenderly, her fingers caressing hisface, his hair. Holding him tightly and kissing his forehead. Poor Seth. He had loved his brother so much, not truly seeing what Marcus was, deep down…Oh, of course, he probably prefered not to see it, but Marcus had also been manipulating and gaslighting his older brother for years, probably since he was a kid…That and, well, the fact that the three of them grew with an abusive father, who killed their mother…No, they didn’t have the best start in life at all. This probably exacerbated Seth’s over-protectiveness of his brothers…And Marcus sociopathic behavior. But now, things could only go toward a happier, brighter future, Ariadne was sure of it. They just needed to make a little effort for a while until all this cleared up.
The abuse the three siblings had endured had shaped all three in very different ways. One grew silent and drawn back, one grew incredibly protective of the other two and one grew cold and antisocial. Marcus had simply adapted to the enviroment he was put in, the three prison sentences was just the absolute nail in the coffin for him.
It felt like all of this was Seth’s fault. He should have seen this comming and he should have stopped it before it got to this degree, before it imploded like this. He was ashamed to see what his brother turned into in front of his eyes and Seth had not done a thing. ”I feel so incredibly stupid!” The realization was almost worse than the death. Wrapping his arms around Ariadne Seth could not do anything else than cry into her shoulder. ”I didn’t see something so obvious!” Seth sobbed, his hands grabbing onto Ariadne. He felt pathetic, and down right stupid. Perhaps this was all the pent up stress from before or not but he could not help it right now. Seth had felt like he was losing his mind for years like he could not even believe his own memories at this point. Marcus was convincing and gaslighting was probably the one thing he did best something that had been going on since their late teen years when their mother truly got concerned.
