Estamos a punto de alcanzar los 170 millones de blogs, pero bueno, no es para tanto… Sin embargo, cuanto más crecemos, más solicitudes gubernamentales de información sobre algunas cuentas recibimos. Como puede llegar el día en que esos datos sean los vuestros, es muy importante que estéis al tanto del tipo de información que nos suelen pedir.

A partir de ahora, publicaremos un informe de transparencia bianual, en el que aparecerá detallado el número de solicitudes que recibimos desde diferentes fuentes, el motivo por el que nos las envían y cómo respondemos a ellas.

Si el informe os resulta demasiado denso como para leerlo entero, ahí va un resumen: Tumblr recibió un total de 462 solicitudes de información sobre los usuarios en 2013, de las cuales un 76 % obtuvo respuesta, junto con los datos solicitados (p. ej. direcciones de correo electrónico o de IP). En una cantidad reducida de casos, las respuestas también incluían contenidos y publicaciones de los blogs (p. ej. textos, audios, imágenes o vídeos).

El resto de solicitudes (el 24 %) eran ilegales, difusas o imprecisas, por lo que nos negamos a facilitar cualquier tipo de dato.

Encontrar el equilibrio adecuado entre privacidad y responsabilidad legal no es tarea fácil, pero esperamos que este informe demuestre nuestro compromiso con esta increíble comunidad. (Fuente: staff)
