Dallas enjoyed a lot of different sports, but none of them had ever stuck the way that hockey did. But for a good work out running a game of basketball or soccer, the occasional football game, it worked well for him. Or if he needed to clear his head and the ice wasn’t open, the gym was almost always guaranteed to be unlocked. “Rink is closed, unfortunately. But now I get to beat your ass so I guess its a win win,” He called back, teasing tone in his words. 

“Ha ha, funny. They don’t call me the Steph Curry of Degrassi for nothing.” He laughed a bit as he reached for one of the spare balls he was practicing with off the ground. Somewhat of a boastful tone in his voice, but it was at least partially true. What he lacked in height, he more than made up for in shooting efficiency and being quick. “Guess I can play a little game of horse or 21. Tell my kids I beat the great Mike Dallas.” He challenged, tossing the ball his way. “Was starting to think you were going soft.”

I knew from the beginning that Vince wasn’t the best guy to be with, but I still liked him and went with my gut. Guess I should have listened to everyone else.”

“Ballsy. Didn’t think collateral damage was your style. But I dunno, didn’t think a dude like Vince was your style.” Vince Bell was a great teammate, but outside of that? He was always skeptical of the older male, two completely opposite sides, though not as much as him and Becky were. But he wasn’t one to judge anyone else’s relationship with his own..unorthodox one (or two?). “Nah, your gut is usually right. Just one of those life lessons you gotta learn from, now you know the warning signs. Toxic ass people aren’t good for anybody.”

Dave realized that he was being timed, so to speak, but he wanted to take his time and really explore the girl. “Probably not. So, what have you been hearing around school huh?” Becky questions with a shrug as she nods yes to wanting a drink. It wasn’t like she was going to be able to sleep when she got home anyway. But she was interested to hear what gossip had been spreading around school.

“I heard you smashed up Bell’s car.” Dave told her honestly, though he left out the bits and pieces about Vanessa being in the car as well. It wasn’t his business, so he’d let her tell her story the way that she wanted to. “I’ll drive.” He spoke as he started to walk to his car, setting his things in the backseat as he started to drive once she was situated. “Not to sound like a simp who just wants to be on the good side of every girl, but a lot of guys are jerks, Becks.”
