alien earth feels like strange things in a bad way because it has too many characters that are underutilized and need to be killed off

my main problem with alien earth is that there are many threads left hanging and much potential left unexplored for the sake of making the least ground breaking moral of the story: the human adults/corporate exploitation is the real monster.

the central theme itself can be so rich if they actually went through with boy k vs hermit for wendy, wendy vs curly for boy k, dame & nibs, morrow & slightly, and kirsh & isaac, in which all these relationships are tangled mixes of maker & fledgling, guardian & child, owner & property, master & slave, instead of scratching the surface and leaving to do another thing, perhaps partly due to the bigger number of characters and a limited number of episodes.
