On this day 20 years ago, I was still in elementary school, starting the 5th grade when the world stood still…back then I didn’t understand what was going on at the time until I came home and saw the dreadful and awful sight on tv; 2 planes crashing into the Twin Towers in New York City…a plane crashing into the Pentagon in DC, and a plane crashing into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Many lives were lost that tragic day; 3,000 people had died in the attack…my heart still breaks for their families today. A moment of silence for those lives lost in the World Trade Center in New York City; the police and firefighters who gave their lives…at the Pentagon in Washington DC…and all those lives on United Flight 93 who crashed into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania…

My heart goes out to the families of the loved ones they’ve lost 20 years ago. I remember heading into the sixth grade and hearing about it from a teacher…I remembered how nervous and how scared I felt when I saw on the tv when I came home early from school when Sweeney picked me up during lunch. I would ask myself, “Who would do such a thing?” Now, 20 years later, it still rings a bell. Bree may not understand it all because she is still a baby (she turns a year old November 7), but I will explain it and teach it in a way so that she could understand. May we never forget what happened.

I do remember being in New York with @ebbyscrooge @littlerani and @fathereliwilliams . All three of us survived but Eli didn’t sadly…he died doing what he did; helping people evacuate the south tower which collapsed. All of those victims who died 20 years ago are in my thoughts. I remember reading about it in the Daily Prophet and I informed the Ministry of Magic that time. Those attacks were tragic 20 years ago. Wands up for the fallen.

My uncle was one of those who died inside the North Tower. He was a police officer helping people evacuate the building when it collapsed after the south tower crumbled. I still think about him even today. May we never forget.
