A female southern right whale is spotted with two calves - her own plus an orphan that she has adopted - near Walker Bay in South Africa. It is rare for whales to adopt abandoned calves.

Marine biologists say this behavior has never been seen before
The expedition took place in 2015. The footage shows a massive swarm of red crabs on Hannibal Bank Seamount.
Thought this was cool and youād all find it interesting.
The scientists leading the expedition are not entirely sure why the crabs were behaving this way. One theory mentioned in the article is that they were hiding, the location had a very low oxygen content (hypoxic) and is difficult for many animals to survive in, so there would be fewer predators.Ā

NEW CATSHARK SPECIES FOUND IN RIO DE JANEIRO
Brazilian researchers found at 530 m depth off Cabo Frio in northeastern Rio de Janeiro state, a new species of shark. Part of a family known as a catsharks, the new species is about 45 cm roughly the same size as a housecat.
Called Scyliorhinus cabofriensis, this carioca catsharkĀ is distinguished from all southwestern Atlantic congeners by its color pattern, clasper and neurocranial morphology and proportional measurements.Ā
The catshark genus ScyliorhinusĀ consists of 16 species of mostly colorful sharks distributed in subtemperate to tropical waters of all oceans. They are usually found in demersal habitats of coastal to continental slope areas, reaching depths of about 1,000 m. Scyliorhinus species are usually small-sized sharks, with adults reaching a maximum size of about 160 cm in total length, but usually attaining only 70 cm.

um. fat people are allowed to be outside btw. fat people are allowed to wear clothes that do not completely flatter them. fat people are allowed to have their belly showing or wear clothes too small for them. fat people are allowed to exist in whatever they want and we dont have to constantly make ourselves look appealing + attractive. skinny people can wear lazy clothes and be called gorgeous but god forbid a fat person not put 100% into their fucking appearance every single day of their life
please dont ignore this post.. thanks..
The beauty of shark interaction. Showing sharks as curious and social Ā animals towards humans, not killers. They are even able to create different relationships with specific human individuals(ej. Eli Martinez, Jim Abernethy, Cristina Zenato, etcā¦)Ā and they can learn from observation. As top predators they must be respected. But the contact we are able to have with sharks is not possible with a lot of land or ocean predators. And as long as there is respect, understanding and appreciationĀ in between, we can have close encuentres with them with no real risk of danger.Ā
Unfortunately the only tool they have for feeling is the one that our skin canāt tolerate. In most cases they use theirĀ snout to touch things, there is no damage at all, and there is no need to use their teeth. But when they do use them which is extremely rare, the wound is mostly superficial and if death ocurrs (which is even rarer), the cause would be blood lose not because the shark āateā the person". Ā
Out of thousands of animals, the shark is one of the few we can truly interact without getting instantly harmed. Ā
