They want us to be mixed so they can try to understand our beauty. Being DARK SKIN is not a crime and being LIGHT SKIN is not a prize. I don’t care how someone tries to put this as a compliment “ your handsome for being dark skin guy, or I don’t usually like / be into darker skin men but…” it’s like it’s my lucky night and your feeling experimental tonight. Don’t ever come at me or anyone of a darker shade of color like that. For years it took me & I’m sure others a while to get to a point in their life where grew into full acceptance of themselves. They blossomed and still are. Being African, having an accent and being a darker skin tone was hard for me and I’m sure others because as kids we were picked on, and looking back you realize how naive children were because they didn’t know better. It’s how they were taught and raised they learned from example. If you install acceptance and knowledge, if you teach a child how to love themselves and others the grow into adulthood knowing better. Oddly enough as much as you’d taught it was white kids who were the bully it was more so black children of lighter complexion. Truth is there is a division is the black community. There is such a thing as light skin privilege. It’s there. But black is black and it’s beautiful in all shades. They’re ( whites ) mad because we are now learning to love ourselves unconditionally & didn’t wait for them to knowledge us as beautiful.
