↳ Boobin’s foolishness and imagination was part of buns charm, and it really didn’t help with peoples hopes in buns intelligence. But Boobin always wanted to try something before believing it’s impossible. Here Boobin was seeing if balloons could really carry a person. But it doesn’t seem as if bun has quite enough for that. So Boobin clutched to the other’s hands, unknowing how badly bun would be hurt from the fall.

The kid was cute, he had to admit that. Part of the reason why he didn't mind having him clinging to him like he was. "Little bit of both, honestly. Nothing wrong with a little sass, is there?" Because, in all honesty, Alex tended to do that a lot. Especially when customers were involved. Whoops?

“You don’t have to apologize; you just didn’t know, right? It’s not like I’m angry with you, or anything… just worried, is all.” There’s no question that he is a little upset, but it’s not as though it’s specifically directed toward Alex— if anything, he’s angry about the insolence of his subjects. Those guinea pigs of his shouldn’t be talking at all, and in fact, he’s already planning on extracting their vocal cords after this. You could call in going overboard, but Lazare clearly doesn’t care about such things at this point. “I’ll make sure they don’t bother you as much, anymore.”

However, if it’s completely silent down in the lab, that might be a little uncomfortable for his friend to deal with all the time. Maybe he’ll just have to visit more often than he already does? “…Hey, does it get boring down here when I’m not around? If you want something, I can bring it to you. I could install a television, get you some games…” He’ll pause for a moment, before starting again with a bright smile, “I could even let you fix me when I get broken— just like old times, right?” Though, that might be a little dangerous given that Lazare makes sure that the other is either asleep or drowsy most of the time, just like his own personal Sleeping Beauty. Is it wrong that Lazare rather likes that thought? Probably.

“Just like back then… Do you ever miss it, Alex?” A look of something akin to almost sadness would brush over the cyborg’s visage, but it’d soon be replaced by that fake gentle smile that he’s become so accustomed to lately, a quiet laugh forcing it’s way out of his lips. “Actually, don’t answer that. I have a feeling your answer might sting me a little.”

Even if Lazare wasn't angry at Alex specifically, the mechanic still couldn't help but be worried for the other subjects. He always worried about them... Mostly because there were times when he could hear their panicked screams and sobbing, and it reminded him of when he was first here. A test subject to Lazare... But that was long ago, or at least it felt like it was. And even then, he was treated differently.

"It...does, actually..." Whenever the cyborg was off working, or doing whatever, Alex was completely alone. He couldn't talk to the others, at least not in a casual conversation. And there was nothing for him to do, other than finding new ways to fold his sheets. So when Lazare offered to bring him a television and games, and even let him fix the other when he needed it... It brought a small smile to the mechanic's face. "I'd really like that."

Granted... Even Alex was a bit worried about trying to repair the other, given how often he was tired. Speaking of which... More than half of his tea was gone by that point, the male covering a small yawn. It was the only thing that kept him from answering the cyborg's question quickly, the words stopping when Lazare told him not to answer it. "Alright." He could understand why, honestly...

Alex gave a soft laugh at the other's interest, holding up the little robotic 'bug' he had managed to put together so they could see it better. "You like it? It took me a few months to find all of the parts for it."

A brow would raise at the other’s request, head cocking to the side by a slight increment. In truth, he’s already disposed of the body; it’d be far too dangerous to just leave the body to be found somewhere. Endangering his lab for the sake of one little family isn’t something he’d do. “Is a stranger’s family really that important to you?” A serene smile will cross over his features and stay there as he nods softly— he finds the other’s innocence almost cute. “I don’t get it, but if you think that’s for the best, I’ll make sure it happens.” Liar.

He’ll nod in response to that thank you— however, there’s something more concerning about his friend’s request; while Lazare is trying to seem calm and composed about it, his eyes are cold— piercing, even. “…Have you been listening to the test group— talking to them? You really shouldn’t do that. They’re not good people to be around; if you speak to them, I’ll get upset with you. We don’t want that, right?” Who knows what they say about him when he isn’t in the room? If the mechanic listened to them, wouldn’t Alex come to hate him? “They’ll corrupt you if you listen to them. I know it gets lonely having nobody other than them to talk to, but that’s why I’m here, you know? You should only listen and talk to me from now on,” He’ll accompany that statement with a smile and a gentle ruffle of his friend’s hair, as if he were joking— but the look on his face says he isn’t. “Okay?”

He believed the lie. Of course, it wasn't a lie to Alex; He didn't see any reason why Lazare wouldn't tell the truth to him, especially about such an innocent request. Alex did his best to keep them at a minimum, though. The last thing he wanted to do was to anger his friend with too many requests. Lazare was frightening enough when he was calm and happy. But he had seen the cyborg become angry with the other test subjects... That wasn't something the mechanic wanted.

Unfortunately, it seemed like he had already angered the other... He felt his heart sink when he looked up, seeing the cold look in Lazare's gaze. His mind scrambled to try and figure out what he had said wrong, before the cyborg began to scold him. About...listening to the test group. Was that all? It seemed to be enough, though Alex didn't really understand why at first. It was probably a good thing that Lazare explained why he would get angry.

"I-I'm sorry..." He ducked his head slightly, his gaze lowering to his cup as his hair was ruffled. "I had just overheard her... I didn't know it was wrong." Alex would have to ignore the others from now on. Or at least not say anything if he listened again. "I understand. I won't do it again..."

“I did,” The cyborg would firmly reply, closing the curtain that separated Alex’s ‘room’ from the rest of his test subjects. He’s only chained one of his friend’s legs to the end of his cot— allowing him much more freedom than the other lab rats. “It wasn’t like it was on purpose, though. She was acting out, so I sedated her to calm her down. How was I supposed to know that it’d react badly with the drug I gave her this morning?” The look on his face shows no sign of remorse or guilt— in fact, he’s making some tea for the two of them as if nothing had happened. He’s really gone off the deep end.

“Her testing wasn’t going well, anyway, so it’s no real loss. These subjects are a dime a dozen— I’ll find somebody to replace her soon enough.” Lazare would pour the tea into two mugs, nimble hands sneaking a suspicious liquid into his friend’s cup. He has to keep him cooperative somehow, right? A little bit of a sedative won’t do much other than keep him nice and drowsy. A hand would extend outward to offer him the mug, a delicate smile present on his features. “—Ah, but I’d never be able to replace you, Alex! I’ll keep you safe here with me forever. Come on now, drink up.”

Lazare honestly scared him sometimes... And this only reminded Alex just why he feared the cyborg. He killed someone, and it was just oh so obvious that he felt nothing over her death. It was terrifying, that someone who acted so gentle, could be so remorseless. So dismissive of another life... "W...Will you at least take her body somewhere it could be found...?" Alex asked, his fingers gripping lightly at the edge of his cot. "To give her family some closure? I think I heard her talking about a husband and children..."

He could remember when the other wasn't like this. Vaguely. That was probably the only thing saving Alex's life; He and Lazare were friends, after all. As unhealthy as it was now, the cyborg still took relatively good care of him. And...he supposed he was grateful for that.

The male couldn't help but smile slightly at the offered mug, taking it with a nod. "Thanks, Laz..." He took a small sip, unaware of the sedatives. Or probably just didn't mind them anymore, if he did know.

Lazare kept him safe. And if that was the way to do it, he probably wouldn't have questioned it.
