LIRR is on strike. If you’re driving instead, best leave home two hours earlier. If you live in the Hamptons and own a private jet, the fuel might break you, but, congrats. You can leave on time.

April 27th recognizes moms of children with Autism. Today, I needed to advocate for my oldest child who is being picked on by an older girl in his orchestra class. He has been picked on a lot this school year and the schools and district have been atrocious to deal with. I have been desperately trying to relocate our family to a different district and area but every time I try something falls beneath the cracks and I have to start again from scratch. My fight for my children and their best interest will never, ever end. And I will never give up on doing better for them. My life is not where I want it to be right now and I am sad, angry, and frustrated, but it’s for all of the right reasons.
I know that if you are a parent of a child with different abilities, you understand.
I have seen typical kids who aren’t half of the people in heart and soul that my boys are - and I wouldn’t trade being their mom for anything.
For those moms who are there with me, I see you, I hear you, and I appreciate you.

My friends, there is still time. Call your representatives. Do whatever you can. This is completely unnecessary. #NoWarPlease #FDJT #takeaction #ActNow

My dear friends, the truth shall ALWAYS set you free. With the challenges that have occurred in my life come many experiences and hope to share. Decades ago, I survived an SA. I thought it was a friend that I could trust. I also thought I could trust my circle of friends at the time. What happened, happened, and I was left horrified. When I reached out to my friends, they didn’t believe me. It was such a degrading experience that I moved halfway across the country to escape the darkness this brought into my world. I am so grateful for that time as it truly helped me to heal.
Years later, many of those people who turned their backs on me got in touch with me again. Not one ever directly apologized, but I knew the only reason they would be speaking to me at all was because they knew that I had not lied like they initially thought. One of the people even made a plan to have lunch with me which we never got to do, because she was taken from this world. 💔 I would have loved to have been able to hug her just one more time.
This person would have never planned to have lunch with me if she still thought that I had made up such an awful lie about someone.
Trauma haunts my life in so many ways, but the truth has always shone through in this life, whether it favored me or not. When I left town to seek peace and recovery, I never thought in a million years anyone would ever listen. Today, I am free.
When you lie to people, one way or another, it will catch up with you. I have witnessed justice prevailing in its own way time and time again.
Hurt people also tend to hurt people and I have had to learn to forgive myself and others in order to have a peaceful existence. There is a reason I share this story. It relates to things happening in this world. However this experience benefits you gives me gratitude. 🙏💖
New beginnings can happen at any time, but markers like a new day, a new week, or a new month can definitely help encourage us.
Imagine you are at this beach, carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. You are sick and tired of being sick and tired. You don’t want to carry such a heavy burden anymore.
So you draw a line in the sand. You take a deep breath of fresh air, breathing in compassion for self and others and breathing out all of the things that have you trapped in your negative emotions. Then, very consciously, you walk across that line you drew.
There’s your new beginning. You can have it at any moment you want to. Since its a new week, one has been gifted to you. I hope that all of you make the best of your week ahead and search for the good things in your day - even though your surroundings may be difficult. None of it has to bring you down.
Sending love and light.
I heard about this case in the news and strongly feel it, and similar cases, need to be discussed. Jose Medina Medina was charged with first degree murder and was then released until his court date. Now he has not shown up to his court date and he can’t be found. He is one of many around this country who has been able to pull this off. Race and ethnicity don’t matter here because this same story has happened with people of all backgrounds and in many different states. The problem is the judges. Why would anyone choose to release a person who has proven to be a danger to the community? We need to do better. May Sheridan Gorman, a young student at Loyola University who was just starting her life, rest in peace - along with all other victims who’s perpetrators get away with their despicable crimes. This is not about political affiliation, any particular locality or any background - this is about safety.
Severe storms are expected across Northern Virginia today. 🌩️
The forecast is calling for damaging winds, possible tornadoes, and dangerous storms this afternoon and evening, so today is a good day to slow down for a minute and make sure you and your family are ready!
A few quick things you can do right now:
• Charge your phones and devices
• Make sure you have weather alerts turned on
• Identify a safe interior room or basement in case a tornado warning is issued
• Gather a few basics like a flashlight, medications, water, and a portable charger
If a tornado warning is issued in your area, move to the lowest level possible and away from windows. Interior rooms, bathrooms, and closets are often the safest options.
Storms like this can move fast, but preparation helps keep people safe.
Stay aware, check on your neighbors if you can, and take care of each other today and every day. 😊💖
Look at this madness. Thanks, Trump!

If you are in the Mid Atlantic (USA) are you worried about the weather forecast for tomorrow? What precautions are you taking if so?

The last few days - sunny and almost 70. Today - this. By the end of the week - almost 80. Is this real life?
Rare Disease Day.
Some illnesses don’t come with casseroles or clear treatment plans.
Some don’t show up on the outside.
Some make you question your own body daily.
Living with a rare condition means managing pain, fatigue, sensory overwhelm, and systems that weren’t built for you. It means advocating constantly — even when you’re exhausted.
Today I honor the strength it takes just to keep going.
For those fighting quietly — I see you. 💜
Under international law, force against another country is only justified in self-defense against an imminent attack or with authorization from the United Nations Security Council. Expanding military strikes without that approval breaks from those norms.
At home, the Constitution gives the power to declare war to United States Congress, not the president. The War Powers Resolution limits military engagement without congressional authorization. Launching or expanding hostilities without clear approval raises serious constitutional concerns.
When an administration bypasses both international standards and congressional oversight, it increases the risk of retaliation, civilian harm, and wider regional war. These limits exist to prevent escalation — ignoring them makes everyone less safe.
Prayers for everyone involved - a girls elementary school was hit during the US-Israel attacks. At least 50 lives lost there. War is not the answer. 💔😔🙏
The Sabres needed this win. After taking a stretch of time off for the Olympics, they needed to restart a streak. Holding on to a wildcard spot isn’t easy and Florida is a good team. Congrats to Buffalo and especially Tuch, Malenstyn and Krebs for scoring!!!
I'm always full of innovative ideas, particularly in my workplace. While some may find my enthusiasm annoying, my job encourages me to leverage my talents to drive positive change, which motivates me to perform at my best. On tough days, I'm reminded of what I have achieved and remind myself that learning is an everyday journey, knowing it's progress, not perfection.
Alysa Liu was and is a prodigy.
At 13, she became the youngest U.S. women’s national champion in history. By 16, she made it to the Beijing Olympics and won a bronze medal.
Then she decided to retire - not because she failed, but because the pressure of winning made what she loved less enjoyable.
Elite sports can turn joy into pressure fast. When every jump is about proving something, the magic in the art disappears.
I know this because being a professional musician and taking auditions carries similar stress. “If I’m not the best I don’t win the job.” The expectation is perfection, and that honestly isn’t fun for long.
So Alysa stepped away, but she missed skating. It was a part of her identity.
When she returned, it was different -
She wasn’t chasing headlines or medals - she was skating because she loved it, and she decided that she was doing it her way-
And that changed everything.
Sports, or any competitive activity, teach us this over and over: when you focus on the work instead of the win, your body performs better. When you lower stress, you move with more freedom. When you release control, you enter flow.
Winning with no expectations isn’t passive - It’s calm under pressure, and it’s living in the present moment.
Sometimes the comeback isn’t about training harder,
It’s about letting go.
And, with that, Alysa Liu won the gold.
