New Tea: Sheng Puerh, Shao Nian You, 2017 Fall⠀ Another puerh from our Jinggu Farm is now available. This delicious daily drinking puerh has no bitterness or astringency. Strong apricot/plum aroma with long-lasting sweetness.⠀ I know that Jinggu's puerh are not as famous as other mountains but they are indeed the greatest and most affordable Sheng for people who prefer the gentle and sweet taste. Since the tea leaves are extremely young, the only con I think is this tea can probably last for only 12 steeps.⠀

Since this tea comes from the trees between 50-100 years - they are pretty much just a young adult - I name it Shao Nian You (少年游, lit. teenage travel, comes from a Cipai of the Song Dynasty, a Cipai is kind of a writing format of the poetry).⠀ ⠀ Here's the one I wrote for this tea, I hope you can understand with the translation :)⠀ 少年游 · 秋别离 Shao Nian You · Fall Departure ⠀ ⠀ 落花声寂，秋来无奈，云雾似仙居。⠀ Flowers falling in silence, fall is finally here, cloud and mist create a fairyland.⠀ ⠀ 枝开茶树，别无去处，唯景谷深坞。⠀ Tea trees are sprouting, not in the other places, but only deep in the valley.

采拣焙茶青山遍，不待雨萧疏。⠀ Pick the leaves and roast the teas all around the green mountain - no time to wait for the rain to subside.⠀ ⠀ 只等天晴秋高爽，行囊备、远行孤。⠀ When the sunny fall day comes, prepare the luggage, and leave alone.

It’s Our Birthday!

It's been a year since Dazzle Deer was founded. Compared to the lifespan of many other tea shops this is a short time. However, for me it also feels like it has been a long journey. We have gone from carrying only 16 teas to now having at least 30 teas and seasonal new products coming in every week. I'm so glad that we made it through this toughest first year. 

I want to thank all of our customers. You have been ordering from us throughout this year and your trust and support encourage me to keep going. I want to thank my family and friends for giving me valuable comments and suggestions, especially my parents living in China, who have helped me a lot to make sure our products arrive here safe and sound.

This is dried Longan, the fruit that we usually describe the taste of Lapsang Souchong black tea. I remember when I was living in Shanghai, my mom would always cook Longan soup in the winter. Longan is considered to be a 'hot' food in Chinese medicine, which means it is better to be consumed during the 'cold' season. When I first started drinking Lapsang Souchong, I never thought about that unique flavor being connected with Longan soup, but if you know how Longan soup tastes, you will definitely agree. Our wild Lapsang Souchong is one of our favorite picks. The dry tea is very sweet, as well as the liquor. If you don't like the smoky variety, then maybe you should try this unsmoked one - it might change your opinion about Lapsang Souchong forever.
