Mabon Apple Tea

4.5 cups of water

2 apples

2 sticks of cinnamon

5 pieces of dried ginger

Honey and Lemon (to taste)

Chop up the apples into slices, and then put everything but the lemon and honey into a large saucepan.

Heat on a low-medium heat for one hour.

Pour or ladle through a strainer into your teapot or cup, and add honey and lemon to taste. Enjoy!

I like using this as a home blessing spell for the equinox as well - the apples represent health, the cinnamon represents propserity, the ginger represents good luck, the honey represents love and the lemon represents a fresh start and an inner light as we turn to the dark months ahead. Because this brews over a long time, you can let that lovely apple-cinnamon scent fill your space with warm homely intentions, and then share a cup with those that you share your space with.

Sage: I part

Ginger: I part

Star anise: I part

Dried apple: II parts

Orange peel: I and 1/2 parts

Calendula: I part

Cinnamon: II parts

Mint: I parts

I'm going to try a mix with one of those infused mix of red berries that you can find in pretty much anywhere along with this blend, but if you want to drink it alone, which I will as well, be my guest.

Or search for a good way to turn this into a coctail by making it on cold and then add some good booze to it. XD

INFUSION: Cloudy dark reddish brown (spice sediment is normal)

INGREDIENTS: Black tea, green tea, apple pieces, cinnamon pieces, and natural flavor

LEAF: Black and green tea leaves generously blended with pieces of apple and cinnamon

INFUSION: Light coppery red

AROMA: Apple and cinnamon

LIQUOR: Light tea base with perfect amount of apple and cinnamon

KASHMIR KHALI KAHWA (black & green aroma) (photos below)

PREPARATION: 3 g tea leaves (1 heaping tsp) per 8 oz filtered boiling water; brew 3 minutes

INGREDIENTS: Green tea, black tea, cinnamon pieces, orange peel, cardamom seeds, cardamom husks, cloves, and natural flavor

LEAF: Large green and black leaves with equally large spice and orange peel pieces

INFUSION: Lighter burnt orange

AROMA: Subtle spice with the slight sweetness of vanilla and orange

LIQUOR: True to its aroma

PAIRING: Subtle enough to pair with a cookie but flavorful enough to drink all on its own, without the traditional sweetened milk
