You are expected to comment on the gift(s) created for you. The only exception is if your gift breaks the rules (i.e. doesn't include any characters or ships you requested or includes your stated DNWs) - in that case, please get in touch with me.

If anyone is still working on late treats, you can of course continue to post them even now that the collection is open. :)

The deadline is in a week, on Friday, May 28th at 11.59 pm UTC. Please make sure to post your assignment to the collection by then, or contact me if you need an extension. If you won't be able to finish your assignment at all, please default sooner rather than later so I can find a pinch-hitter. Good luck finishing your assignment!

Assignments sent & community challenge

Assignments have been sent! You should have received an email, and you can also see your assignment on your AO3 dashboard. If you have any questions for your recipient, please contact me, don't contact your recipient directly. If for whatever reason you won't be able to finish your fic/art, please default as soon as possible so I can find a pinch-hitter.

I know we've never managed our little community challenge in the past, but maybe this is our year! Maybe all those new movies inspired us! The idea is to create twice as many gifts in the collection as there are participants, i.e. 36 fanworks in total! This is of course a completely optional part of the exchange! But if you feel like writing or drawing a treat for anyone - whether you want to create several gifts for your recipient or create something for someone else - go for it! You don't have to be signed up to the exchange to treat.

Treats do not have to meet the minimum requirements for your assignment, i.e. they can be shorter than 2000 words and art can be a sketch/lineart. They do have to respect the recipient's DNWs.If your letter is still a placeholder, please finish it as soon as possible so your creator can get started.

Schedule for round six - nominations are open now!

Since the Snyder cut just came out and everyone is excited, I've decided to run this year's DCEU-Exchange a bit earlier. And because the Discord is full of enablers, that means it's starting RIGHT NOW.

DCEU Exchange is a fanworks exchange for the DC Extended Universe, meaning at this point in time Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Aquaman, Shazam!, Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman 1984 and Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Participants either write a newly created fanfiction of at least 2000 words or create an original piece of finished art (no manipulations and graphics; no quick sketches or lineart)  fulfilling one of their recipient's requests. The exchange is run on  AO3. Updates and information will be posted on Dreamwidth and crossposted here on tumblr. We also have a Discord server.

This  exchange is open to both gen fanworks and fanworks focusing on ships. All ships, all ratings, and all genres are welcome. Participants are expected to be respectful of others' likes/dislikes. Bashing of ships, characters, kinks, and requests will lead to an immediate ban from this exchange.

Authors/artists revealed

Authors/artists have now been revealed. If you haven't commented on your gift yet, please try to do so as soon as possible. I've already seen lots of great comments on the exchange fics and artwork! Let's keep that up, if you're still making your way to the collection. :D I also want to point out that several treats have been posted to the collection since reveals last week, so be sure to check those out as well if you haven't yet. I'm leaving the collection open as usual - if anyone is finishing more treats, feel free to add them to it. I hope everyone had fun participating and liked their gift. If anyone has suggestions for future rounds, let me know. And other than that I'm looking forward to doing this all over again next summer. :D

Deadline passed

The deadline has passed and we don't have any post-deadline pinch-hits this time. :D If you don't have a gift yet, don't worry, several participants have extensions. Unless there are any unexpected issues with the extensions, we're on track to open the collection on Friday, August 28th, at 6 pm UTC. (Note the time! It's 6 pm UTC and not midnight like the other deadlines. Depending on where you live, this might be in the middle of the day for you, so make sure to get all your last edits in before that.) Feel free to keep posting treats, of course! :D
