Life As A Disney Cast Member

My name is Kayla, and I was accepted (along with my boyfriend) into the Disney College Program for Spring Advantage 2014! My boyfriend and I are both Custodial, so hopefully I can give you some insight of what this role is like! I am basically going to blog my way throughout the entire program, & I will answer every question you might have about the program or about anything in general! I look forward to meeting new people & experiencing new things!

DCP CHECK IN IS IN LESS THAN A WEEK!

I am so thrilled that check in is literally just around the corner. I leave on saturday and I don't think it is possible to be any more excited than I already am. 

It is starting to actually hit me that I am doing this and not just imagining it. Anyway, I will save you the sappy sob story for another time. I posted a new video today and I think it is worth checking out! It is a "Day in the Life" Video of what I am doing before checkin! Kyle's singing at the end has me in tears laughing every time I watch it. It is absolutely hilarious. He can't sing, and he absolutely mutilates these Disney songs. He made my video worth watching though! He is fantastic.

Anywho, I will be posting another video next week of my drive down to Florida and I will post a video later that same week of the first couple days of the check in process so be sure to keep watching!

It's almost Disney time!

I only have 13 more days before I am pulling out of my driveway without looking back!

Well at least I won't be looking back for at least 7 months (I hope) unless I'm in need of surgery while on my program. But all that will come with time and I'm not going to worry about any of that!

The point of this post was to merely talk about how beyond excited I am. JANUARY 18TH IS ALMOST HERE.

Surgery Disaster

#4 So, surgery did not go as it was planned, which absolutely sucks. I am basically sitting at the end of a waiting table, hoping that the doctors bless me w...

This is not good. 

I might not be able to go to Disney, and as I say that cautiously it is ending up to be the sad fact at the end of the tunnel. This isn't fair. I was all ready to go. I was blessed with the acceptance despite everything my family and friends were saying! My boyfriend and I got it and now it is basically being ripped from my hands.

If you have 15 minutes to sit through a video of my surgery update, then please go ahead. I will be posting every week about the update of my surgery and whether or not I can go to Disney. Disney is in a month, I need it more than anything. I met some of the bestfriends already. I need to get there to meet everybody.

Hey yall!  My third video is up this week (super late yes....). Anyhow this week has been crazy for me, Thursday I found out I have to have surgery again (this is like the 5th time) so it might risk my chances of going to disney if this surgery doesn't fix my issue!!!

To Vlog or Blog?

So, as I remain on youtube for hours watching Disney vlogs from people who are there now and/or have participated in DCP in the past, I keep thinking about how helpful vlogs would be for other people! I know they sure help me a lot! 

Plus, if I record a lot of my DCP experience I will be able to look back at more than just pictures, and relive my time while I was down there! 

So, should I vlog or just stick to blogging? Let me know what you think :D

Quick Update

Hey All! 

This is just a very quick update (because I am starting a little late) about what has happened so far. On September 7, 2013 I applied for the DCP. On September 12 I had my PI (phone interview), and I waited up until September 23 when I was finally accepted! I was beyond thrilled and never thought it would happen the first time I applied. Not only did I get in, but after applying the same day, having the PI on the 10th, and being pended on the 27th, my boyfriend was accepted October 15th (his mothers birthday)!! 

So basically we were accepted, looked for roommates (I have found my lovely ladies!!), and now we are waiting for the next step...which I believe is to choose our housing preferences which should be about 10 days prior to the arrival date! 

PS. I arrive January 20th and I leave August 8th!
