Here's Leon and Chris hiding out in the wilderness just after they've escaped from the lab.
Leon's also trying figure out how to turn back into a human while Chris gets dinner. Unfortunately for Leon he has very little knowledge about his mutation, let alone how it even works, so for now he's stuck like this. He can't get any help from Chris, considering the older man lacks the awareness he has and is acting more like a wolf than the trained combat veteran he is.
Leon doesn't even have the option to call for backup or look for help either since he can't talk and Chris is WAY too infectious to be allowed anywhere near civilization right now.
So for two stressful weeks Leon is stuck in the woods babysitting Chris, keeping out of sight and living day to day life as best as he can. Despite trying he best not too, Leon does manage to have some fun playing with Chris and learns how to properly move his new body while doing so.
Ironically this all eventually helps him finally figure out how to transform back into a human again, and after A LOT of gentle coaxing from Leon, Chris manages to do the same. Unfortunately as a human, Chris's mental state is awful. He's extremely depressed and quiet, and looks like he's seconds away from just curling up in a corner and staying there.
It scares the shit out of Leon and he tries his best to keep Chris from spiraling as they make their way back civilization, They do mange to have some good luck though when they stumble upon a stray clothesline alone the way and are able to snag a few pants and shirts before they head into town.
After the events of RE6, Chris is sent out with several soldiers to clear out a bioweapons lab, but they're immediately ambushed and captured by the scientist waiting there. One by one the soldiers are given a new experimental virus that essential turns people into werewolves, and the results are not pretty.
Soon Chris is the only one still left alive, having survived and adapted to the virus's mutations, but he's unfortunately unable to escape and is being a kept as a unwilling test subject.
Thankfully Leon hears about Chris's missing status and immediately goes to rescue him. He's able to easily sneak into the base and find Chris, who is locked in a small room and chained to the wall while slumped in the corner, clearly not looking too hot.
When Leon approaches, Chris can't stop himself from transforming, and with one solid pull, tears the chain clean off the wall before he darts after the blond. The two play a game of cat and mouse for a bit, but Chris has the upper hand considering Leon does NOT want to kill him and Chris uses that his advantage to tackle Leon to the ground before clamping his jaws around the blond's thin shoulder.
Leon can only howl in pain as Chris uses his giant paw to keep him pinned, but instead of thrashing and ripping Leon apart, Chris suddenly relaxes his jaw and let's go before gently licking the wound on Leon's shoulder.
They stay like that for awhile, and while Leon is glad Chris is not tearing him apart like a chew toy, he's really starting to feel like shit and would like if Chris would let him go. Unfortunately Chris only does so when Leon begins to transform, his body mutating from the fast acting viral strain that Chris just infected him with. After a few painful moments, Leon finds himself now a werewolf like Chris, but is also surprised to see that he's still coherent.
Even stranger is the way Chris is acting now, looking more like a lost puppy than the snarling monster as he trails after Leon wherever he goes. Taking stalk of the situation, Leon decides that the rescue operation is still possible and starts the long, awkward process of shepherding Chris out of the lab without being captured.
((After a bunch of crazy encounters, the two manage to escape and disappear into the surrounding woods. The two stay hidden in the wilderness for few weeks, as Leon is unsure how to change back, while Chris is seemingly content as he is. Eventually Leon figure's it out and transform back into a human again before convincing Chris to do the same so they can return back to civilization.)
((Chris is not as coherent as Leon when he's a werewolf and will act more on instinct. If he's upset, he'll react more aggressively to things, but when he's calmer, he's more gentle and aware.))
((Leon's transformations hurt a lot more than Chris's, but Chris has a harder time transforming back into a human than Leon does as he's unconsciously using the werewolf from as a way to escape his emotional trauma.))
((When they're werewolves, Leon is ALWAYS in charge. Chris will never fight for leadership and is more than happy to follow Leon around and listen to whatever he says. Even if Chris tires to attack someone, he will immediately back down if Leon tells him to stop.))
So MAWS made a mosaic Superboy and settled on him being Jon. Unfortunately I saw this coming almost from day one, but that's irrelevant.
They presented him with Kon's very specific 1990s looks, there are some loose nods to N52, but solidified that no, this is specifically JON from the future to marry that they are inspired by Dragon Ball Z (it's Trunks' narrative man). Like...
I'm not mad they want to tell this story, it is an elseworld and they can do whatever they want obviously, but what gets me mad is they presented him with something so specific to Kon El and went SIKE it's JON, not Kon! They even have the framework to specifically introduce Kon.
I don't think they realize Kon fans don't appreciate this and I can't help but feel like Jon fans are also getting smeared because Jon doesn't need to be presented as someone else (this is something DC has yet to learn historically). They could have easily from the start given this Superboy a more ambiguous design instead of something so specific to Kon.
This again goes back to you don't need to sacrifice other characters, or their fans, to prop up another one.
I understand this is animation, not comics, period, this is an elseworld however the point still remains that they led people with ambiguity and it's led to some salt. Saying "well they never confirmed this was Kon so it's YOUR fault for assuming and getting upset" is unhelpful and, frankly, bullshit when that boy looks like Kon.
