Just because of my ship choices I feel safer associating with proships over antis (for obvious reasons), but I feel like even if you critique proshippers or have a big fucking issue with a portion of the community (namely. the ones that side with alt-right lolicons that think saying slurs is funny and who openly hate trans people) they act like you’ve just personally attacked them because how dare you put us as ANYTHING but victims!! sooooo annoying. shut up

both sides take things to the absolute fucking limit and it’s unfortunately at a point where BOTH groups are highly toxic and fucked up.

with antis it’s like… thought crime level shit and people’s personal discomforts become some kind of morality stance. you know it’s perfectly reasonable to dislike incest/underage shipping (i think, at least, it’s why when people find it gross i just leave them be and let them block me. because they’re allowed to dislike something especially if it is highly triggering content but now it’s like legit insane levels “if you like selfship you’re an incest supporter” “if you’re 18 and date a 17 yr old youre a PEDOPHILE” “umm why do you like enemies to lovers isn’t that abusive anyways kill yourselves xyz ship i hate” and denial of actual evidence provided directly from psychologists on how fiction can safely explore the taboo and help you process trauma among other important things. it’s basically a movement based purely on emotion than facts and evidence, which you know whatever given the subject matter i could Understand why. Unfortunately this passionate outrage turns into hardcore bullying / doxxing quickly and I have seen my fair share of mutuals get graphic detailed rape, abuse and pedophilia sent to them either with antis trauma dumping and blaming them for everything that ever happened to them OR trying to openly trigger and get the person to commit suicide. One of my mutuals has received at least 15 anons, the same person, every day, for the past three months because a certain anti thinks they’re the reason why they actually got molested. 

but with proships. it’s like the opposite. where do we fucking draw the line because i have witnessed the fucking irl incest discourse where a user was actually posing to have an irl incestuous relationship and there were people not just openly supporting it but sending hate to abuse victims and survivors who were just merely putting out warnings on the user. real victims. of a real crime. and these fuckers were ACTIVELY making fun of their trauma and being like “well its just an incest relationship get over it!” or sending them anonymous posts about ACTUAL incestuous fantasies. i have heard (not seen personally) shit about multiple people giving a pass to IRL FANFICTION ABOUT MINORS, esp the youtuber minecraft ones. i legit got multiple blocks for fucking posting about how disgusting it was that people spent more time harassing those victims who were uncomfortable with a REAL incest relationship (later found out to be fake/”irl roleplaying” without anyone’s consent, but you know whatever the community is fucking insane at times) and that was legit my tipping point into Dropping both labels. it was fucking abysmal. this is why a lot of users straight up won’t fucking interact with anything proship because this is the shit they associate with the label now. 

my line is firmly drawn at this:

- REALISTIC depictions of drawings of children. The 3d rendering looks real and could plausibly be a child.

- irl fiction about minors or nsfw fanart of real kids. shadman/shadbase shit as well as any non consensual drawings of REAL people, given any age. if someone drew or wrote about me getting fucking nonconned i’d feel gen violated, as would anybody else fiction or not.

but that’s …. my line. the problem is with the label is once you get a small group of say, people that advocate for the above shit…. you fucking poison the punchbowl and everyone becomes “those people who support irl minor fiction and realistically drawn csem”. idk i’m just ranting because i hate all this shit and it bugs me how nobody talks about it with any nuance
