i really thought the point of "being lgbt+ doesn't absolve you of racism as a white person" was that white people arent absolved of racism by being marginalized but it really seems like people think other marginalizations make it okay. no being disabled doesn't do it. no being poor doesnt do it. we need to fight against racism actively no matter what.
currently writing the best shittiest fic for my friend bc she selfships with a specific character and it is so much fun i am having the time of my life. i forgot how much i love writing when its enjoyable. however i do not appreciate that i procrastinate doing things that i enjoy,,, what's up with that bro
Synopsis: After another no show you’ve finally had enough of Adam’s behaviour but an argument leads to a startling confession you never saw coming
I haven’t posted a fanfic on here in a year but this gorgeous himbo brought me back. Enjoy!
——————————————————————
All you had asked for, after an excruciating week at work, was for Adam to meet you at 8 and have dinner together. You didn’t even expect him to pay or turn up with flowers but you did expect him to turn up. It wasn’t until the following night that you heard from him and you heard more than you bargained for.
It was half 11 at night when he showed up at your flat with an intense look in his eyes. You’d been tempted to shut the door in his face as this wasn’t the first time he’d left you for dead on a date but you just couldn’t. Not to Adam. He was impossible to be cruel to.
His voice was pleading as he followed you around your flat like a lost puppy. “Please listen to me! I promise I’d never cancel if it wasn’t for a really good reason.”
You whipped your head around in fury.
“Cancel?”
Adam backed away, noticing his mistake.
“Cancel implies you gave me some kind of notice Adam not that you left me sitting alone in that restaurant all night like an idiot!”
He decided against interrupting your clearly long overdue rant. You paced back and forth, throwing Adam the occasional steely glare he’d learnt to expect after cancelled dates.
“And it’s not like this is the first time either. You seem to get a kick out of disappearing on me. I look like an idiot and worse I feel like an idiot because I thought you’d be different.”
“I am different!”
“Prove it!”
Without warning Adam pulled off his gym bag and unsheathed a sword inches from your face, albeit pointing upwards.
“What the fuck Adam?”
He frowned at your reaction as if he was confused it wasn’t more positive. It was an impressive sword after all.
“I can explain…”
“Please do.”
You promised not to interrupt, despite feeling rage burn through you at his request, and listen calmly.
So he told you everything.
How he wasn’t from Earth but a place called Eternia and his father, the King, was murdered for protecting him from an evil Skeleton.
“Skeletor.”
“Sorry.”
He even told you about his green tiger.
“Did you have him…painted green?”
“You promised not to interrupt.”
And once he’d filled you in on the guardian turned bird and his powered form “He-man” you were rendered devoid of anger.
“You’re really not angry?”
You shook your head, trying to at all swallow the story he’d just presented you with. It’s hard to be angry at someone insane, you thought.
It wasn’t until Adam ran his fingers through his already unkept hair begging you to speak that you realised you’d been silent for a while. Almost four minutes to be precise. You couldn’t speak. Not until you’d finished analysing every hint you’d missed, every strange remark you’d ignored throughout the last three months.
Suddenly phrases he’d used casually like “I’m from…all over” took on new meanings or his god-like figure that was barely at the gym. A montage of tiny exchanges played in your head for what felt like hours. His strength, his stamina, his obsession with swords, his vague family history. That time you’d asked him what primary school he’d attended and his only reply was to hastily ask you if you wanted your eggs scrambled or boiled. Your brain felt bombarded. What was happening? Did you…believe him?
“Please say something.”
You finally looked at your boyfriends crest fallen face. He was on the verge of tears. With a reassuring look, you patted the seat next to you and Adam sat down immediately. The wood creaked under his weight and you found yourself remembering the time he’d actually fallen through a stool at your local bar. Granted there were drinks involved and heaviness didn’t equal alien but it was another hint you’d ignored. Adam placed the sword on your side table carefully, willing you to speak with his brown doe eyes.
“I’m thinking.”
And that’s when he said the words you never wanted to hear from someone so wonderful.
“Are you breaking up with me?”
“No Adam! That’s the last thing I want.”
You kissed his forehead, cradling the sides of his face in your hands letting him melt into your touch. In seconds the two of you were completely entwined and a calm enveloped your body and mind. Adam felt it too, relaxing his shoulders and sighing softly. He was so beautiful. You cursed yourself for never staying mad at him.
“I’m not going to lie,” you admitted after a moment. “It’s not easy to believe.”
“I know…”
“But it is easy to believe you.”
Adam’s heart ached at your understanding words and within seconds you found him lifting you off the couch and into the air, a big grin plastered on his face. You giggled at the sight.
“Thank you thank you thank you.” He beamed, spinning you round until you felt dizzy. When you made a face he gently placed you back on solid ground but not before kissing you deeply. Adam was a great kisser. Your first date had ended with a kiss so perfect you’d wasted no time informing the groupchat how you were “ruined for other men”. And now you knew why. Adam wasn’t even human.
“Would you ever,” he hesitated, avoiding eye contact for a moment. “Come with me?”
“To Eternia?”
You pictured his pet tiger and ancient golden castles, forests without an ounce of green and statues taller than mountains.
I hate how everything is jist smut now, like i can appreciate it from time to time when in the mood but almost everytimr i search reader inser all thst shows up is smut
Whay happened to gut wrenching angst or super soft fluff? Some of these fics don't even have plot anymore, and this isn't me coming at any writers because it takes alot to come up here and share stuff like that, but I've been on this app for years and its sad to see how downhill some fandoms have gone.
I just miss when we act created art and it wasn’t just a porno with mo plot everywhere you turn.

You were in a forest.
It wasn't a regular forest. This one had great big trees with red leaves, yellow grass, glowing purple and blue flowers. The light of the sun filtered through the tree canopy, washing everything in a golden light. You walked aimlessly, looking around at the breathtaking beauty of the otherworldly environment. You watched a large blue lizard skitter up the side of a tree, chasing after a shiny green beetle, no doubt hunting its dinner. The forest was impossibly vast. No matter how far you walked, the expanse of trees and flora seemed to never end.
You had eventually come to a clearing, revealing a stream edged by a pebbly shore. You walked to the edge, watching the crystalline water glistening in the golden light. You crouched down at the edge of the water, dipping your hand in and smiling as the cool liquid washed over your skin.
"Hello, there."
"Ah!!"
You shrieked and jumped to your feet, flinging water as you flailed. You turned around, searching for the voice that had come from nowhere and scared the daylights out of you.
Standing a few feet away, was the most radiant and powerful looking man you had ever seen. He was tall, with golden blonde hair that perfectly framed his face. He wore a chest harness and a leather loincloth, the skimpy garb doing very little to hide the powerful muscles of his body. His wrists were covered by bracers, and his legs were adorned with knee-high boots.
He also had a very large, very deadly-looking sword on his back.
"Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you!" the man says, holding up his hands in surrender.
You stared at him, hackles still raised. "Uh...who are you?"
The man visibly relaxes, seemingly relieved that you hadn't run for the hills. He gives you a little wave. "Hi, there," he says." "I'm Adam. I'm the Prince of Eternos."
You wake up to the sound of your alarm blaring.
You slammed your hand on top of your alarm clock, silencing it. You didn't move for a bit, simply laying there in half-awake stupor as your mind tried to adjust to being abruptly woken up. Your mind drifted to the odd dream you had. You remembered you were exploring some mythical-looking red forest, and you met a tall, blonde, muscular, gorgeously tan barbarian.
You groaned and rubbed at your eyes. Of course your stupid alarm had to wake you up right when your dream got to the good part. You sigh and get up, beginning your routine of getting ready for the day.
You were back in the forest again, with the same golden sun filtering through the same red trees. You didn't remember arriving, or being anywhere else before. You were simply back there again. This time you weren't alone from the start. Adam was there with you. Adam, the same golden barbarian you had met here the last time.
"You came back!' he says with a grin on his face. For some reason, seeing him made something in you loosen. As if him being here meant you were safe and you could truly relax.
"Oh, it's you again." You said. You looked him up and down. He was in that same get-up as before, the one that showed off his, quite frankly, gorgeous body. You met his eyes again, looking at him with intrigue. "You're the one who snuck up on me last time."
He smiled sheepishly. "Yeah, that was me. Sorry about that." He steps closer, holding his hand out. "Once again, I'm Adam, the Prince of Eternos. I didn't get your name last time."
You gingerly place your hand in his, hoping he's asking for a handshake and you weren't being your socially awkward self and misinterpreting. You tell him your name.
He surprises you by bringing your hand up and placing a kiss on the back of it. "Beautiful name for a beautiful lady."
Your cheeks burned, completely flattered and caught off guard by the gesture. You take your hand from him and try to act like you weren't about to melt. "You must say that to all the girls, hm Princie?"
He laughs, the action making his whole visage seem to light up. "No, actually. I haven't had much luck in that department."
You made a face. He has to be lying. There's no way someone who looks like that hasn't been snatched up by now. You decide to change the subject. "So, Adam. What exactly is this place?"
He blinks at that. "Oh. You must not be from here." He runs his hand through his golden blonde hair. You don't miss how his biceps flex with the action. "This is an enchanted forest in Eternia, my home planet. Eternos is the capitol city, my home and my kingdom."
You blink at that. His home planet? He's an alien?
This is a dream.
Oh. Of course. You're dreaming. You're not actually in a magical forest with a hunky alien barbarian prince who has perfect hair. This is a dream. Well, then why not play along?
"Well, then. It's a pleasure to meet you, Prince Adam of Eternos." You give a curtsy, playing up the whole addressing royalty thing.
He chuckles, laying his hand on his chest and giving you a bow. "And a pleasure to meet you, My Lady." He stands up straight again, the smile not leaving his face. "So, just a guess, but are you from Earth?"
"Yep," you say. "Born and raised." You chuckle at your own little joke.
"Cool, cool...I used to live there too."
You tilt your head curiously, crossing your arms as you looked at him more closely. You couldn't help but notice that he speaks very...Earth like. You imagined aliens to have some sort of refined dialect, but he spoke like he was just some guy you could meet in your every day life. "Oh, you did? And how does an alien prince end up on Earth?"
He shrugs, sighing as he wrings his hands together. "It's a long story..."
"I've got time."
He looks at you, noticing your openness and willing to listen. Internally, he wonders if you aren't going to believe him, but he reminds himself that you haven't shown any skepticism yet. Besides...he was standing in front of you in warriors garb with a magical sword on his back. The proof was literally right in front of you. "Alright then."
He tells you of his childhood in the palace, how he was smaller and weaker than the other combat students. He tells you of the night Skeletor ("big scary guy with a skull for a face" he says) invaded Eternos, how the Sorceress sent him to Earth with the Sword of Power, how he lost it and was stuck on Earth for 15 years until he was found by his childhood friend, Teela. How he became the vessel of Power and defeated Skeletor.
"And now, since the city has been rebuilt and Mom has reclaimed the crown...I'm now serving the people as their Prince."
"Wow," you said, eyes wide. "That's...a lot. Cool, though." You leaned to get a better look at the sword on his back. "So that's the Sword of Power then?"
He nods, happy that you listened to him and took his story in stride instead of calling him crazy. "Sure is. The one and only."
You paused, biting your lip. You returned your eyes to him. "Can I see it?"
He grins widely at that. "Absolutely." He reaches behind him, grasping the sword's handle and unsheathing it from his harness. The sword glints in the sun, the sharp metal shining brilliantly as he moves to hold it in front of him, presenting it to you with both hands. "Here it is."
Your jaw drops a bit, absolutely mesmerized at the gorgeous weapon. You leaned down to get a closer look, observing the sharp edges and masterful craftsmanship. "That's so cool."
He grins. "Yeah?"
You nod. "Oh, yeah. Swords are cool as hell. I love medieval weapons." You smile shyly. "I may be a bit of a fantasy nerd."
"Is that so? What else are you into?"
The conversation devolves into you discussing your favorite things. You talked about your obsession with media like Lord of the Rings and The Witcher, how disappointed you were with the ending of Game of Thrones, and how Breath of the Wild is one of the greatest games of all time. You also talked about your love of art and music, how your self-expression comes out in with being creative. He listens with rapt attention, even offering his own opinions on the various media you discuss. How convenient that this alien prince was familiar with Earth and its art.
"Well, Princie," you say, eyeing the Sword of Power. "Why don't you show me what you can do with that? Show me some badass sword fighting moves."
He smiles widely, grabbing the sword and twirling it in his hand with a flourish. "Very well. Whatever the lady wishes."
He backs up a few paces so you would be clear of the sword's striking range and moves into a fighting stance. He swings the sword through the air, making sweeping cuts as he handled it with grace and precision. You watch his the way his muscles flex with every strike, showing the strength in his body. He does a spin, his foot=work impeccable as he swings the sword around and stops just short of striking a tree.
When he's done, he sheaths the sword onto his back. He turns toward you, spreading his arms as he smiles widely, his golden hair ruffled from the motion. "Well? Did I look cool?"
You grinned and nodded your head. "So cool."
Your alarm blares obnoxiously. You blink blearily, the image of your bedroom ceiling coming into focus.
You and Adam sat side by side on the edge of a large pond, looking out over the crystalline water. You were leaned against a large rock, lounging with your legs outstretched, digging your toes into the grassy shore.
"Well, hello there," you turned to look at him. "Fancy meeting you here."
He grinned. "Likewise. So how was your day?"
"Ugh, work was a nightmare today. I don't really want to talk about it honestly," you laughed.
He chuckles. "That's fair. I worked in Human Resources when I lived on Earth, so I've seen my fair share of workplace nightmares."
You gaped at him. "No way. You're telling me the prince used to work in HR?"
"Yep," he says. "I liked it, honestly. I liked helping people, solving conflicts. I was pretty good at it, too."
So he's a man who knows how to communicate and see all sides of a situation. Something about that makes you feel gooey. "You must have strong analytical skills if you were able to do that job well."
He smiles sheepishly. "Yeah, I guess so. Funnily enough, I was able to transfer a lot of those skills into being a prince. There's so much researching and problem-solving and politics that goes into being the leader of a kingdom."
Admiration swells up inside you. It sounds like he does so much for his people. And he's been nothing but kind to you since you've met him, it must be reflected ten-fold when he's serving the citizens. "You must be a good prince, then," you say.
He smiles at you. Is that a blush on his face? "You haven't even seen me in action."
You shake your head and smile at him. "I don't need to. You're a good prince. I know this."
He doesn't respond at first, just gazes at you with a look of wonder, those brown puppy eyes of his fixed on your face. "Thank you," he murmurs.
You blush, getting flustered at the intense eye-contact. You had to change the subject, you couldn't handle being looked at so adoringly by this golden hunk.
"So," you press your hands together, holding them in front of you. "Tell me about your day. Did you get up to any cool adventures?"
His face lights up, and he immediately starts telling you about his latest mission with Cringer (or Battle Cat, as he is known as when teamed up with He-Man), talking animatedly and gesturing with his hands as he excitedly recounts how they rescued a village from a pack of bandits leftover from Skeletor's army.
You sat there with him, listening intently, until the blare of your alarm woke you up once again.
You flopped down onto your bed, relieved to finally be able to rest after the grueling day at work you had. Even better, it was Friday night, which meant you could sleep in as late as you wanted during the weekend.
As you settled into bed, your mind drifted to the man who had been appearing in your dreams. Adam, the incredibly handsome prince of another planet. He had been the subject of your dreams for weeks now, always appearing to you in that same enchanted forest. He quickly became a confidant, someone you could talk to and escape from the waking world with. He was physically powerful, but his true strength seemed to be his ability to talk and listen. He was incredibly kind, always willing to lend you an ear, and always seeming to know exactly what to say if you were upset or asked for advice. Not to mention he was quite easy on the eyes.
You frowned, staring up at the ceiling. Just what was wrong with you? Were you so unsatisfied with your life that you were becoming attached to a fake guy from your dreams that your mind had made up? Were you that lonely and pathetic? Was this unhealthy, becoming so attached to something that wasn't real?
You know what, screw it. You weren't hurting anybody. If the dashing prince from your dreams was helping real life become a little more bearable, then just what was wrong with indulging your fantasy?
You turned to your side and snuggled into your pillow, closing your eyes and allowing sleep to take over.
Instead of the forest, you're on the sandy beach of a vast blue ocean. The sun is setting, bathing the area in pink and orange light. The sand is soft and warm under your bare feet, and you dig your toes into it. You look around, wondering where Adam is, until you spot him standing close to the water's edge. He looks gorgeous under the light of the setting sun, with the wind ruffling his golden hair. You grin and jog up to him, lightly tapping his shoulder once you reach his side.
"Hello there, Princie," you say with a grin. He turns to look at you, his own smile lighting up his face when he sees you.
"Hello to you too," he says. He opens his arms, inviting you in for a hug. You don't hesitate to throw yourself in his arms, hugging his waist and resting your cheek on his chest. The two of you held the hug for awhile, maybe longer than two dream buddies should. But who was gonna stop you? It was your dream after all. You pulled back just far enough to look up at him, smiling, his arms still around you. The ocean waves gently wash over your feet.
"Missed you all day," you said, looking up at him fondly.
"Yeah? I missed you too," he replies, reaching up to brush your hair from your face. You blush, getting flustered by the gesture but also relishing it at the same time. You weren't sure when your dream man (ha) became so touchy, but you weren't going to complain. You snuggle back into him, burying yourself in his beefy chest. He chuckles and wraps his arms around you again, holding you against him.
"This is a nice change of scenery," you quipped, looking out at the calm ocean, still nestled in his hold.
"Really? You got tired of the forest?" he chuckles, gently stroking your hair. You look up at him, chin on his chest.
"Well, no. The forest is beautiful. But I've always loved the water." You say wistfully. You couldn't help but acknowledge just how romantic the setting was. Two people embracing on the beach at sunset? And the love interest happens to be a beefy, handsome, alien prince? Come on now.
You pause.
Love interest? Is that what you think of Adam?
You're pulled from your thoughts when he squeezes you in his arms. "This is the Harmony Sea. I'll have to bring you here for real one day," he says.
You raise an eyebrow. "Bring me here for real?"
"Yeah, of course," he says. "Once we meet in reality and, you know, not in our dreams. I want to show you everything."
It felt like your heart was doing somersaults in your chest. You (reluctantly) pulled yourself out of his arms, but you kept one of his hands grasped in yours. "That sounds lovely, Adam," you say with a sad smile on your face. You reach up to press your hand against his cheek and he nuzzles into your touch, closing his eyes. "What I wouldn't give for you to be, you know, real."
His eyes snap open. "You don't think I'm real?"
You chuckle sadly at that. "Of course you aren't. You're just someone my mind made up because I'm lonely. There's no way you, the hunky alien prince from my dreams, are a real guy."
He smiles a bit at your compliment, but it quickly fades into a frown. He grasps the hand you have on his cheek, bringing it down to hold both of your hands in his. "That's not true. I'm real," he says, a pleading tone in his voice. He sighs "Look...I know what's happening here."
"Really? And just what is happening?" you ask, raising an eyebrow.
He squeezes your hands in his. He looks so handsome right now, the light of the sun making him look as if he were made of gold, and his perfect hair blown by the coastal wind. He looks deeply into your eyes. "You and I are soulmates. We've been meeting in our dreams because the bond wants us together."
You stare at him, mouth agape, before bursting into laughter. "Wow, that's a good one. Didn't think my brain would come up with that."
He's utterly distraught by your words. This whole time the two of you have been meeting, talking, becoming closer...and you never thought it was real?
He steels himself. "I can prove it."
You laughter dies down into light giggles, and you tilt your head. "Oh really? And just how will you prove it, Prince Adam of Eternos who is also my soulmate?"
He lets go of your hands, and you mourn the loss. "I have something to give you," he says, a sense of urgency in his tone. "I was gonna save this for when I started to...uh, court you properly. But I'm gonna give it to you now."
He pulls out an object seemingly from nowhere (dream logic you suppose) and holds it out to you. You gasp. It's a necklace. The chain is a shiny polished metal, with gorgeous stones of your favorite color dangling from the links. The stones glitter in the sunlight, looking as if they were burning from within.
"Adam. It's beautiful," you say, a look of awe on your face. He smiles, happy that you were pleased with his gift.
"Here, let me put it on you," he says. "Turn around."
You turn your back to him, moving your hair out of the way. He drapes the necklace over your collarbones and then closes the clasp on the back of your neck. You try not to shiver at the feeling of his fingers delicately brushing against your skin.
You turn back around and smile brightly at him. "Well? How does it look?"
He looks at you, his gaze impossibly tender as he smiles back at you. "Beautiful."
Your chest fills with warmth. You know this is just a dream, and the necklace would fade away once you woke up, but you couldn't help but be swept up by the tenderness of the moment. "Thank you, Adam."
He gently grabs one of your hands again. "This will prove that I'm real. Just you wait," he says. He gently tugs your hand. "Come on...walk with me?"
You allow him to pull you forward, falling in stride next to him as you both walked along the sandy shore. The waves of the Harmony Sea gently lapped onto the shore, washing over your feet as you walked, hand in hand. The atmosphere was perfect, and your heart felt full as you enjoyed the moment with your dream man.
Eventually, the soft white sands and the clear blue ocean began to fade away, your body waking up naturally and pulling you into the waking world.
Your eyes blinked open as you awoke, the walls of your bedroom coming into view. You rolled over onto your back, sighing wistfully as you stared up at the ceiling, ruminating on your dream. You felt a wave of sadness wash over you as you thought of Adam, the prince from your dreams. He was so perfect, so kind and gentle with you. How cruel of your mind to torment you with the perfect man who didn't exist.
You eventually rolled out of bed, padding over to the bathroom to begin your routine of brushing your hair and washing your face. You stood in front of the mirror and gasped out loud as you caught your reflection. You brought your hand up to your neck, eyes wide as you watched yourself touch the thing that hung there in your reflection.
On your neck hung a necklace of shining stones. The very same necklace Adam had given you in your dream.
Author's note: I hope it's okay that I combined these two asks! This was taking longer than I anticipated so I decided to split it up. I will be writing a part two where they actually meet!
Tumblr added a bunch of tracking shit to share urls, so now ill teach you how to get rid of them
if you copy a url by sharing on the website, the link will look like this
getting rid of tracking in these is easy, just delete everything after the question mark and you are golden
in the case for the app, its slightly more complicated
first you have to delete at. that appears before tumblr(.)com the other tracking shit on this one has a lot more info, so please, clean app urls. after the first set of numbers, there's a / you have to delete everything after it
