i know you've said you use flash and tvpaint, is there a reason you use both, or particular use cases for either? i'm interested in getting back into 2d animation and trying to figure out what would be best (and everything u make is absolutely phenomenal :D )

Hi! its usually whichever i feel like using at the time. Heres some personal pros and cons

FLASH PROS -smaller files -ability to reuse assets/rigs -vectors = easy resizing, rotating, etc -swf compatibility with after effects means you dont need to render thousands of pngs -i like the crunchy look of flash lines -flash 8 is easy to get for free and is almost the same as the current version

FLASH CONS -current version is adobe subscription software -prone to crashing/corrupting -no raster brushes -symbol based animation is a lil tricky TVPAINT PROS -feeels gooood to draw in it, if you're used to drawing in raster programs its an easier learning curve -easy to build custom brushes -ability to make your own scripts and addons too -one time fee program TVPAINT CONS -raster=big file sizes and image exports -not the cheapest program, but i think they offer student discount -rotating and resizing drawings can give ya messy pixels

Some of these points may not apply to the current versions of these software, everything i use is outdated. I'd try out trials for each and see what clicks for you!
