here's something i'm curious about
how do you feel about your city's public transit agency/ies?
it is my friend and family member
it annoys me like a sibling. only i can make fun of it, fondly.
it's cute
i do not think about my transit agency/neutral
it sucks
my transit agency is willfully antagonistic of its ridership
it is my enemy
other? /results
tag your city and the names of your transit agency! for example, i'm from SF, MUNI is my friend and cute, BART is my beloathed and a cop shill.
last week my pals and i assigned the different tube lines queer identities LOL
Top 10 favourite books of any genre
There’s likely one of these already circulating somewhere but I’ve not seen one yet so I thought I’d start one.
Tagging (no pressure whatsoever): @richardsthirdnipple, @mejcinta, @bohemian-nights, @mercedesdecorazon, @gwenllian-in-the-abbey, @aifsaath, @dangerouswinnercandy, @daylander1000
Top 10 favorite books of any genre
Thanks to @theothermaidoftarth for tagging me! This list is sort of all over the place and in no way exhaustive but they are all favorites Tagging (no pressure whatsoever) @lairn @whatevsbla @spectrum-color @kingsroad @motleywolf-et-al @hogs-in-your-house @uniqueobjectcollective and whoever else wants to share books
Top 10 favorite books of any genre
I decided to pick things I've read at least twice.
Is Mort the best Discworld novel? No. Does it hold a special place in my heart? Yes.
tags: @smalltownfae, @terpia, @cloverinblue, @whatevsbla and sincerely anybody who sees this and has an interest.
Top 10 favorite books of any genre
Are these the best books ever? No. Are these my favourites? For now, yes. This was pretty hard to pick tbh because they aren't all at the same level and I have at least 2 more I would mention and some I haven't reread recently so I can't say if they are still favourites. In the end, I was satisfied with this list at least.
Fool's Errand stands for the complete Farseer and Tawny Man trilogies. I just didn't want the entire thing to be Hobb books.
Btw @lairn I just bought Holes because it was cheap and I saw it on my dash and it looked interesting.
Tagging (if you want to do it): @monpetitrenard @xserpx @beeblackburn @random-jot @alloysius-g @electropeach @song-of-amethyst @garnetrena @vydumaj
I've been tagged by @smalltownfae and by @tragediegh , almost at the same time, thank you so much my Skill coterie fellows 💙💙💙
Fool's Errand by Robin Hobb (stands for the whole Farseer and Tawny Man trilogies + other Robin Hobb/Megan Lindholm books in general)
Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett
Le Temps Retrouvé (Finding Time Again) by Marcel Proust (stands for the whole A La Recherche du Temps Perdu saga - In Search of Lost Time)
Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince) by Antoine Saint-Exupéry
His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
Métaphysique des Tubes by Amélie Nothomb
The Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice
The Odyssey by Homer
The Neverending Story by Michel Ende
I wanted to add a lot more: The Lord of The Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, A Song of Ice and Fire by G.R.R. Martin, Jonathan Norrell and Mr Strange by Susanna Clarke, Lord of the Flies by William Golding, Peter Pan by James Barrie, The Great Gatsby by F.S. Fitzgerald, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Small Gods by Terry Pratchett, Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, Ewilan's Quest by Pierre Bottero...
I just chose the most impactful ones, the ones I think about the most, the ones which meant something very deep and very personal to me. The ones I reread again and again, even now. Some childhood books, some books I read as an adult, but they all stayed with me and I read them many times.
And I tag 10 mutuals: @andreas-hangout , @blatterpussbunnyfromhell , @calimera62 @chonaku-things , @jellyfitzjelly , @kabbal , @kaantt , @lilaiyuy, @rapha-reads , and @sweettsubaki !!
(no pressure, only do it if you find it fun! and if you want to do it without being tagged, let's go!)
I started thinking "oh no how will i pick 10 books only"
In no particular order, but i tried picking the cover of the edition i read, including in french. Cheeky 11th pick with Paradise Kiss, because it's a manga but it was the first one i wanted to include.
Pleased to see i have mostly women written books on there, but not that surprised. Took away non-fiction to narrow the list. Bias of when i last read them is strong but not that overwhelming actually.
Let me see who to tag... @kesslersymbolic @hyperjiggles @inthecompanyofabengaltiger @chwiggy @rocketsaurus @tacofrend @yetanotherboringadult @quietlycanadian @illusemywords@miyamorana only if you wanna share
I wouldn't normally do this but the twink reading over my shoulder said "you should do that and tag me", so I guess I gotta do it now.
I haven't been an avid reader since the age of eleven so I'm gonna just put in some good books I remember reading, and if I make it to ten even fucking better.
