A unique Riolu with purple eyes and knows Aura Sphere earlier that Katie befriended and added to her team and will eventually evolve into a Lucario. Like Alicia’s Lucario, Anubis, Spirit is one of Katie’s strongest and loyal Pokémon.
The Ace: Is this as Katie’s secondary strongest Pokémon between Mega Evolution and using a Z-Move.
Airplane Arms: He had been prone to do this as he runs as a Riolu, which the girls find very adoarble.
Always Accurate Attack: His Aura Sphere attack, which never misses its mark.
Back-to-Back Hardcores: With Anubis when they take on both the Lucario’s Mega Evolved forms.
Bad with the Bone: Much like Anubis and many other Lucarios in the games and anime, Spirit knows the Cubone and Mandibuzz line move, Bone Rush in the form of an aura energy.
Bash Brothers: With Alicia’s Lucario, Anubis, especially in comparisons of their alternative Mega Evolved forms.
It’s not a wise idea to steal or rip his scarf.
He doesn’t take too kindly to jerks or creeps flirting with Katie, making her uncomfortable with their advances. They either get Aura Sphered or even Thunder Punched for their troubles. Brock is lucky to spared due to being a Nice Guy who’s just Innocently Insensitive, suffering no worse than being dragged back by the ear, getting Poison Jabbed by Croagunk or simply warned off with a subtle Death Glare from Spirit himself.
Big Brother Worship: Greatly admires Anubis and is inspired to be as strong as him when he evolves.
Big Fancy House: Katie has him in a Luxury Ball, which heightens his Friendship Level.
Big Friendly Dog: Well, technically a Pokémon that resembles an anthropomorphic canine, but he’s still a Nice Guy.
Blow You Away: Learns Aerial Ace to combat against Sophia’s Hisuian Lilligant.
Blue is Heroic: From a Riolu to eventually evolving into a Lucario, he has blue fur and belongs to one of the primary protagonists.
Bruiser with a Soft Center:
Cool Big Bro: Being the third Pokémon in Katie’s team, he basically takes up the mantle to the other three Pokémon.
Dance Battler: Mega Evolving into Mega Lucario Z, he achieved a calm, dance-like battling style.
Dishing Out Dirt: Knows Bone Rush, a Ground-Type move.
Energy Sphere: What is a Lucario without its Signature Move, Aura Sphere?
Even the Loving Heroes Has Hated Ones:
Even a Riolu/Lucario hates Thomas and his roommates for being. Trio of bullies.
However, Spirit has a greater hatred towards Team Rocket scientist, Professors Sebastian and the Grunts, Attila and Hun for murdering his father when he held them off to buy his mate and pup time to escape and mortally wounding Spirit’s mother when they tried to stop the from escaping when attempting to capture him. They also pushed him even further when they decided to sic their own Pokémon Katie when she and her friends tried to stop them from destroying the nature reserve he had been born in and steal his former pack.
Evil-Detecting Dog: Being a canine-like Pokémon with an Aura Vision, he can sense several people with bad VERY bad intentions via their aura.
Excellent Judge of Character:
The unique colours of his eyes were inspired by surfer Victor’s Pikachu, Puka, who has ocean blue eyes. The only difference between them is that while Puka is a very special Pikachu that can sense big waves.
Since he also learns Aura Sphere sooner before evolving, Spirit is was inspired by the Aura Riolu from the Diamon & Pearl two parter episodes, “Pokémon Ranger and the Kidnapped Riolu”.
Finishing Move: Aura Sphere or Gigavolt Havoc.
Hardcore Adorable: Mainly when he was a Riolu. Although even as a Lucario, he does lean towards being just as adorable as he’s hardcore.
It was a Gift: He deeply cherishes the scarf Katie gave him.
Laser Blade: His move, Bone Rush is in the form of blue aura energy.
Lightning Bruiser: A very fast and strong Pokémon.
Mama’s Boy: He’a pretty much clingy with a mild case of separation anxiety since his Dark and Troubled Past, adopting Katie as his surrogate mother.
Meaningful Name: The reason for Katie naming him “Spirit” was mainly his spirited personality.
My God, What Have I Done?!: His reaction when he accidentally hurt Aki the Dewott with an uncontrollable Aura Sphere in an attempt to upstage Kirlia while training on a practice dummy.
Nice Guy: Even when evolving into The Stoic Lucario, he’s a generally a sweet fellow.
Pint-Sized Powerhouse: As a Riolu, he’s a pretty strong little guy.
Precious Puppy: As a Riolu, he has some adorable puppy-like traits.
Puppy Dog Eyes: Back as a Riolu, he is very prone to making these for the rule of cute or mostly to get whatever he wants.
Purple is Powerful: Has purple eyes and is one of Katie’s strongest Pokémon.
The Resenter: He started out jealous when Anubis started mentoring David’s Kirlia and struggles to keep up with his own improvements. He eventually breaks out of it after his ordeal of running away after his reconciliation with Kirlia and Anubis.
The Runaway: Having a fallout with Anubis after accidentally hurting Aki with an uncontrollable Aura Sphere to one up David’s Kirlia in a fit of jealousy, Spirit runs away, only to end up getting injured.
Shock and Awe: Knows the Electric-Type move, Thunder Punch.
The Z-Move, Gigavolt Havoc upgraded from his Thunder Punch when Katie uses the Electrium Z Crystal.
Spin to Deflect Stuff: He spins his Bone Rush staff to neutralise some attacks.
The Stoic: As all Lucarios can go.
Super Mode: Mega Lucario Z.
Sweet Tooth: A trait he picked up from his trainer.
Taking the Bullet: Downplayed. When Hun sicced his Steelix on Katie as she tries to free the leader of Spirit’s former pack, Spirit quickly jumped in to hold off an Iron Tail attack and he would have been crushed underneath if his friendship level hadn’t hit the roof and evolved into a Lucario, becoming strong enough to completely throw the Iron Tail off and it’s user back.
Undying Loyalty: True to his species when it comes to his bond with his trainer.
Unknown Rival: He gets a bit jealous of David’s Kirlia when Anubis took him in a second student, making the Riolu feel overshadowed and practically forgotten.
What Beautiful Eyes!: It’s a mystery of how a Riolu/Lucario has purple eyes rather than the usual red colour their species are known for, but they’re still rather pretty.
Wolverine Claws: As being partly a Steel-Type, he knows Metal Claw.
