Like. As a queer and confused and angry child I NEEDED that bitterness. I needed that rage and pain. But I’m older now. I went on the same journey as Nimona. I embraced my need for that openness and loving community. So her new ending in the movie felt perfect. To me.

One of the things about Nimona that felt so purposeful when I watched it, but I now realize probably wasnt after finding out its based on a book is like...

So the story is set up to seem like knights have been defending them from monsters for generations. As it goes on you learn no one has ever even seen a monster in recent memory. Then you learn theres NEVER been a monster attack, only Nimona.

And it felt so obviously like a commentary about how so often anti trans laws, lawsuits, and sports rules happen to stop ONE SINGLE TRANS PERSON FROM EXISTING PEACEFULLY.

so i watched everything everywhere all at once again yesterday and having seen the movie before made the line “you have unlimited potential because you’re so bad at everything,” which when I initially watched hit like a joke, wreck me. the idea that having hopes and dreams and hobbies that are half pursued isn’t wasted time rather proof that you yourself are limitless just. yeah. leave me be please.

it's important to me that queendeath jokes come not from a place of online community or coming together to laugh at her but from a place of profound and viscous hatred for her and every member of her digusting family. for all the deaths by her hand and in her name, deaths that will only increase as the government cracks the eugenical whip.
