Please help my aunt out with her horse!!!
This horse taught me everything I know about riding horses and I’ve known him since I was a baby, as you can see from the picture above. He means the world to me and his name is Cinnabar.
Cinnabar is a 31 years old Arabian gelding who has been a part of my aunts life for the past 30 years. Recently he was out on the pasture and could not get up due to muddy ground and the arthritis in his legs. Even after several hours on the ground, Cinnabar made it known that he wasn’t done and with the due diligence of Dr. Dennis Jenkins and Habitat for Horses, we were able to move Cinnabar to dry ground and he got up!
He is currently rehabbing at the vet. While my aunt doesn’t have a dollar number for the bills that he has incurred, we know that his rehab will add up. It is also possible that he might need a sling built for him to sleep in to prevent him for getting stuck on the ground.
Cinnabar is my aunts child and their bonds run deep. Those that love horses know how hard it is to be without their horse. Or those with any kind of pet knows how hard it would be to be without them. This summer has been hard on the income from the stable my aunt owns. Santa Fe, Texas has seen record rain fall and then extreme heat, it has been difficult to offer riding lessons and horse training. Your donation will help cover that gap.
