"Opposites attract. I could calm him down, he could fire me up. We could see things in each other that the other needed to be complete." - Paul McCartney, The Lyrics, 2021
Appreciating and resonating with these replies as well
His disney princess waist i hate and love home for it.
Damn I wish I could be part of Grandpa Paul’s crew. Out there living the fuck out of life.

I would have strangled them.
#OnThisDay in 1942, Hedy Lamarr and composer George Antheil received a patent (#2,292,387) for a Frequency-hopping communication system which later became the basis for modern technologies like wireless telephones and Wi-Fi.
Imagine being a movie star who is so bored with the nonsense of being a movie star that you go and invent wifi.
i’d hate being george harrisons roommate imagine leaving some dishes in the sink once because you’re in a hurry and he gets mad but is like “it’s fine whatever” and then 8 month’s later you turn on the radio to a new hit single from george harrison called “dumb fuck and lazy” and you’d be like. damn.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAUL McCARTNEY
Happy Belated Birthday, Macca!
some of the letters quoted in Love Letters to the Beatles (selected by Bill Adler), 1964
I love the ones where the unrequited love is so bone deep it turns you into a super villain.
“John in particularly hated musicals. He liked ‘West Side Story’, we liked ‘West Side Story’ a lot because that was like innovative, it grabbed us and it’s really good. But, things like, John and I one afternoon went to see ‘South Pacific’ and we actually walked out ’cause he just couldn’t stand it. I mean I would have sat and just watched it ’cause I had paid my money and I would watch anything. But he’d go, ‘Oh, bloody hell,’ you know, because what happens is, they start—you know the girl in it, Mitzi Gaynor, I think it was—going, ‘I wonder if he’s looking at me. Can he really see me?’ And we’d go, ‘Oh no!’ And he starts like, ‘Oh, I think she’s looking at me, I don’t know.’ And we’re going, ‘Oh, stop it!’”
—Paul McCartney, from here
(For context, the movie came out in 1958)
to be fair, South Pacific is a crap movie. but this is also the same band that made “Til There was you” from the Music Man part of their repertoire…
“When Sam Taylor did her film [Nowhere Boy], she brought the script round and we chatted about it. She’s a very good friend. And I said, “Well, Sam, that’s not really true. John didn’t really ride on the top of the double-decker bus.” She said, “No, but it’s a great scene.” I mean, the character of Mimi, John’s aunt, I said to her, “She really wasn’t how she’s written in the script. She’s written as a very vitriolic, mean old bitch, and she wasn’t at all.” She was just some woman who was given charge of the responsibility of bringing up John Lennon, and it was not an easy job, you know? She was trying her best. She was kind of strict, but it was with a twinkle in her eye. I said, “I used to go around there and write with John, and she was okay. You’ve got to change that.” Some of the things she did change, but in the end we agreed that this is not a documentary, this is a film, and so she made inferences that weren’t there. Like, this whole idea of the first song we recorded, “In Spite of All the Danger,” being John’s ode to his mother. That’s not true, but in a film, it works better. I remember the session, and I remember all the circumstances around that – and we wrote it together. It did not appear to be an angst-ridden ode. We were copying American stuff that we were listening to. American songs were about danger, that’s why we put it in. But, for Sam, it worked much better in the film as an angst-ridden ballad.”
— Paul McCartney on the movie Nowhere Boy, interview for Rolling Stone (via mclennonbook)
I am convinced the real reason Paul hates this film so much is because John gets all the smoldering good looks and sex.

All comments are correct BUT are we also sure that the fact Paul is taking such purposefully dainty bites from the cupcake isn’t adding fuel to the fire?! Like, he’s purposefully torturing George with food and that’s just against all the rules of the game.
Leaving the note that she hoped would say more...
Oh my heavens this is beautiful! 😭 When Disney art and The Beatles collide…! ❤️
this was the first time everyone witnessed twink death in a large scale it had everyone in mass hysterical distress the only explanation was that he really did die
It really is the only logical explanation.
Errr.... hello???
I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again: motion pictures are NOT the ideal format for telling the beatles stories, yes even FOUR “interconnected” films. We need a 6-9 episode series like THE CROWN: a whole season on 1964, a whole season on the Breakup, a whole season on Paul getting blasted at George’s wedding 😂
