hey, so I have a lot of new followers from the Akali post, and just wanted to clarify: I didn’t work on the new skin at all, just base Akali. I made the post because I had disconnected from league for a while and the music video featuring Akali front and center sort of brought it all back for me. It blew up and got really popular and forced me to confront it.

Also, I was the lead engineer, not the “creator” as one person said – the gameplay designer was CertainlyT, and the actual concept art was done by TheBravoRay. There were a variety of others who worked on the visuals, sound, etc. For the record everyone on the Akali team was all great and I enjoyed working with them. The artists and designers were immensely kind, easy to work with, and excellent at their jobs.

Most of my work involved adding technical bits to the League engine, like the smoke shroud, working on tooling for the various artists, and adding some features like the triggers for the wall jump animation on her E. And the challenges I had were dealing with other engineers and managers at Riot, not the artists.
