My absolute favorite part of the notes is the person who said this chicken recipe had no seasoning. You witnessed someone douse a chicken in a bath of butter, garlic, parsley, salt, stuff it with more garlic and shove an entire block of cheese up its chussy. Do you...not know what seasoning is?

I think the thing about Saltburn that makes me lose my mind the most is that Oliver's longing was so intense that he found a way to cast himself in the play of Felix's life, taking on the role of the damsel in distress specifically so Felix could feel like the hero. I mean, what the fuck. He really went out there and said I will make myself weak so you can feel strong. I will be small so you can be big. Whatever role I can get in your life, I'll take. Just to be near you. Just to gaze at you with your little red glasses and lollipop, Lolita-ing it up on a hot summer day. Just to drink your cummy bathwater after you jerk off. And when Felix found out all that he'd done, he didn't want him anymore. How fucked up is that. If some feral little man turned himself into Oliver fucking Twist to seduce me I'd let him nip at my heals like a sad little dog for the rest of my life. What the fuck.

I think the truth of Oliver is somewhere between Venetia’s perception of him as a moth, and his own perception of himself as a sort of wolf who has come upon prey with no natural predators. The night he kills Felix, they’re both dressed as prey animals. He allowed Felix the fantasy of saving him but we see the film through his eyes and we see Felix as this 6’5” vision of beauty. Like despite Elordi’s overt masculinity he’s portrayed as one usually films a princess, or a late wife, the camera drinking in every inch of him in such a vulnerable way. Oliver is dangerous in the way mosquitoes are. One would never think that the most dangerous animal on earth is something so small. They’d think it to be a wolf, or a shark, something big and ferocious. But it’s in that ignorance Oliver thrives in. It’s also why I don’t think he was lying when he says he hated Felix, too - it’s a psychosexual mix of hatred and love, an intermingling of lust and envy a lot of men into other men are all too familiar with. A dark manifestation of the desire to have someone carnally but want to be them too, to desire them so strongly you’d want to crawl inside their skin and live there.

Hey everyone! This is the first post we're making here... I just wanted to introduce our new comic: Re:Layers! It's a little passion project.

The website is already up right here and there's even a mirror of it on MSPFA if that's more your thing. The very first page is available too, and more is coming soon. It took me a bit to get the bare minimum working but I'm learning how this stuff works, so hopefully it'll start looking a little cooler soon enough. The neocities website does have a comment section, though it's pretty basic. If you ever feel like asking us anything related to the story or such, this blog is the place for it! I hope people will enjoy coming along with us on this new adventure.
