So have a few reasons as to why G1 Starscream is pretty strongly headcannoned to be autistic:

His emotions overwhelm him so he has meltdowns (do I even need to source this? This happens literally EVERY episode).

Has pretty obvious co-morbid ADHD/ADD (also apparent in every episode).

Has verbal issues with tone and volume (SERIOUSLY DO I EVEN NEED TO SOURCE THIS?? HE SCREAMS 24/7 EVERY EPISODE).

He reacts unusually negatively when asked to do something by someone else (do I gotta source this even like literally any time someone asks him to do something he screams).

Might just be the animation but he is shown a few times to have repetitive movements (such as shaking his fists up and down) .

You could argue that he has a special interest in science due to his background with Skyfire!

“Seeming to talk at people rather than with them” this is a huge indicator that most resources list and it’s very true!

“Not being aware of other people’s personal space, or being unusually intolerant of people entering their own personal space” ok he’s done this both: he jumps into Megatron’s arms uncharacteristically but he also hates it when people touch him.

@netbug009 Megatron actually has tons of autistic traits that I share lmao and I (the mod of the blog) am the one to headcanon this.

He’s either 100% literal and doesn’t get a concept, or he’s 100% metaphorical and suddenly understands super abstract concepts that the normal Cybertronians wouldn’t understand. There appears to be no in between with him.

It is canon that he hates people touching him due to sensory and personal space issues and he literally has a panic attack/possible sensory meltdown after Ultra Magnus hugs him without his permission.

Doesn’t understand most forms of humour unless he comes up with it himself. He literally has to study how to make jokes with Ultra Magnus (who I also headcanon as autistic):

Megatron: Rodimus. Good to see you’re in…. better shape.

Rodimus: Did you come up with that joke all by yourself?

Megatron: Ultra Magnus suggested the pause.

He has possible special interests in literature as well as politics (as shown by literally knowing everything about the Golden Age and Functionalism in order to fight back) and is known to infodump and ramble about such things.

Is literally unable to function properly in social settings (as shown by him being incredibly reclusive even with his own Decepticons, and even trying to avoid movie night while on the Lost Light).

Has a hard time making facial expressions other than his normal “stern” look.

He has a hard time with vocal tones and has a very hard time being “casual” with his tone of voice, preferring a very stern and formal way of speaking.

He’s prone to random fits of rage which could honestly be autism meltdowns because half of the time, the fits of rage aren’t ever explained so yeah they’re random. I’ve noticed that they usually happen when something doesn’t go his way or disrupts his routine and as an autistic person, I can say that I’m prone to meltdowns when something I don’t expect happens.

Speaking of that, it seems he needs routine in his life and hates when it is disrupted. He’s a very orderly person and you can literally read any issue of MTMTE and see that whenever someone, cough usually Rodimus, cough fucks his routine up, he’s prone to yelling or telling them off.

He has specific comfort people. Bear with me here but he’s shown to only trust Ravage in the first half of MTMTE, and then later on he’s shown to only really trust Ultra Magnus. These two people are the only ones he trusts and even seeks comfort in on some occasions out of the literal 120+ people that are on the Lost Light ship (until Terminus comes along in issue 55 and later on into the Lost Light comic).

Keep in mind that this one is more of a headcanon but: I headcanon him as having bad sensory issues. This is because he used to have huge sensory panels/crests (as shown in Megatron Origin issue 2 when he takes his helmet off) and eventually got them replaced with smaller red crests (as shown in MTMTE issue 14 when fighting Overlord in the pit). His helmet could not only be protecting his sensory panels but also keeping them from detecting too much sensory input and thus preventing him from going into a sensory overload.

So uh yeah there you go. 11 reasons why Megatron from MTMTE is autistic!
