The kid’s advice made Bardo chuckle. So now even little children were telling him to fix his habits? What was the world coming to?
"When you’re my age everything cramps." That was only partly true. He only got cramps sometimes. And they were mostly in his back and neck, from leaning over things all day like the desk and in the kitchen…Now when he started getting cramps in his legs or hands, then he was in trouble.
"I wouldn’t exactly say lucky…But you seem to be a big fan of these ears of mine." It was as though once the boy had noticed them he hadn’t stopped staring at them. It was almost flattering and almost creepy. "If you stay here you’ll see a lot more, different types too. Just don’t stare at all of ‘em. Some people don’t like being stared at, even if you mean well." He is totally not thinking of some cursed cat right now.
"You don't look that old, Mister." Trip replied, chewing gently at the inside of his cheek. The man's ears were very interesting. They looked like cat ears, so technically he was a cat? But also a human?
"Well, I really like cats." The boy said blankly. "They're really small and fluffy and, and meow at people." He got a bit excited, remembering the small stray that he would pass by on occasion. It was very friendly.. Being warned about staring, Trip looked away, glancing over to the side. "Didn't mean to stare. I just seems kind of weird that you have 'em is all."
