Okay I am so genuinely annoyed that the 1st picture is getting so much circulation because

That is a fake quote

Daria doesn’t talk so jokingly about sex so it’s out of character

You clearly haven’t watched the show much

Now reason I added the movie poster to the infamous and beloved movie of Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion is because that’s where the quote is ACTUALLY from. I don’t know who made the original image with the quote but clearly it’s gone around and is probably one of the most famous screenshots from the show. Even buzzfeed believes it happened which shows that whoever wrote the article probably watched the show 10 years ago, searched on tumblr under the tag “Daria” and just put whatever looked hip and popular. Click here to be directed to a website that streams the movie for free and skip to 4:45 to hear them say the quote. (If you haven’t already just watch the whole movie, it’s super iconic and great).

The only thing “Daria” and “Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion” have in common is the year they premiered (1997)

disclaimer: It’s not that I’m upset that that quote is matched with Daria because I more than anything would of loved a quote as such but unfortunately that is not the case and I want other Daria fans not to feel disappointed when they watch the show only to find the quote isn’t anywhere to be heard.

If you don’t believe me or whatever, watch Season 3 Episode 8’s “Lane Miserables”. Thats the episode where this scene takes place.

Well said. I seen the episode a few times and I did not hear that fake quote at all, and I do believe you and geeky-feminist. And “Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion”, If I recall correctly,you said the quote is taken from the film that I’ve never heard of. I just want to say what you wrote was well said.
