I can't locate the post now, but there was one with like a list of Dracula movie ideas better than another Drac-Mina romance (answer is most other stuff), but I want to contribute my own two ideas:
1. https://youtu.be/crhlAIahS4s?si=3cMgeYmcCbqa29YG I watched this video, so a Sequel where Dracula survives by a hair, and starts training himself to be an assassin, purposely avoiding using his Mina connection to not be found out, and after ten years or so starts going after the loved ones of the original gang, still within all limits of being a vampire. Og gang minus Quincey now need to find a way to thwart his plans, and kill him for good this time, when not dying themselves. It all cumulates with Dracula trying to go for Mina's and Jonathan's kid, and him getting basically smited by parental love and a bunch of weird uncles to the child.
2. The beginning is very close to the OG book, but Vampire! Lucy has more free will and actually joins the og gang to get rid of Drac, and get few more moments with her Fiancée and almost- fiancées, despite the fact that if Dracula dies, she dies too. To balance out the addition of Lucy, Dracula gets to have an ally too, probably another doctor trying to smear van Hellsing and Dr. Seward (anyone who worked in medicine knows their disciplinary branch is fucking brutal). Why the other doctor is into it? Idk, maybe personal grudge, maybe money.

Right now, characters of note are: Roderich and Maximilian, two brother personifications of Austria, recently established as duchy and their prince Rudolph I becoming the Holly Roman Emperor, Rudolph, the personification of the city of Vienna and adopted son of Austrians, Constanza , the biological daughter of Maximilian and Albrechta , who is personification of Bavaria and Hedvika or personification of Kingdom of Bohemia, who tried to establish her rule over Austria and also adopted Vienna during her 30 years there.
Day 2: Habsburg Rule
💜 Getting your prince to become King of Romans is great, but humans have this tiny flaw, which is that they die. Of course, after Rudolf came his son Albert I, who also became King of Romans, but got assassinated only a few years later, and his son failed to establish himself as a Holy Roman Emperor. That made the brothers take a break from the election matters, focusing instead on expanding their territory.
💜 They managed to get a foot in modern day Slovenia, taking its personification, boy named Janez, to Vienna to educate; in their mind it was better to not either just leave them with a random noble, or just alone to see what happens with him, because that could be creating a possible future adversary or could lead to death of a possibly useful ally. Instead, bringing him to the centre of Habsburg lands and raising a kid of around 6-8 alongside Rudolph could make both of them more loyal. Kids at this age are still able to be shaped, even as a nation.
💜 Maximilian also tried to get Constanza back from Bavaria, which led to war. In the end the Pope was forced to intervene, in 1328 making it an independent Bishopric Duchy of Salzburg, with Constanza as its personification. It meant that both of her parents fully lost custody over her and she was to be raised from now on by bishops, and only way to regain the contact with her lead through the Crown of Romans.
💜 Roderich in similar time when his brother was trying to get custody over his daughter proceeded to instead try to expand south, gaining Tyrol and Carinthia, opening them to the Adriatic sea.
💜Worth of mentions are also many, many attempts to gain Bohemia for themselves by marriage or by politics, but those plans ended eventually being foiled. But, both Roderich and Maximilian definitely didn't forget about the Czechs, moving the plans to join the territories to a later date.
💜 But, it wasn't all territories and marzipan: to the West lied the Helvetian Federation, and in it lied Schwyz. Schwyz's personification, Sebastian, known also as Basch, was the youngest at the time member of the Federation, and earlier became an extremely close friend with Maximilian, some people may even say a bit too close. But, the political landscape, ever changing, put them on the opposite sides of war, in which the Helvetian Federation ended up separating, taking an ancestral land of the Habsburg dynasty (castle of Habsburg) with them. Both brothers, and especially Maximilian, considered this a personal betrayal on Sebastian's part, but some friendships and sentiments are hard to extinguish...
💜 Meanwhile, Austrian human rulers were working hard on giving political backing to their personifications and capital. Rudolph IV established Vienna as the capital of the HRE, and also tried to lift Austria to the glory of Archduchy, by faking documents. It wasn't recognised at first, but it's definitely still worth a note.
💜 Soon, due to treaty of Neuberg, Habsburgs split into two, and later three, lines, each of them taking one of the personifications (Albertinan line, controlling historical territory of Austria took Roderich, Leopoldian line, controlling so-called Inner Austria, and later Janez further was split from that when one of Dukes took so-called further Austria and Tyrol.)
It weakened both the dynasty and personifications greatly, Roderich even falling close to deathly ill, and allowed rival dynasties, such as Luxembourgs, to gain more power (which was I think 3rd time early Habsburgs lost Czechia).
💜 In 1438, the split finally ended, by elevation the Habsburgs again to tittle of King of Romans by Albert V, and later Frederick III was brought to the glory of Holy Roman Emperor in 1452, year later elevating Austria to the rank of Archduchy. From this time on, Habsburgs and Austrian personifications retained iron grip on the title of Holy Roman Emperor up to the Empire's dissolution in 1806.
💜 The peace was unfortunately very short lived, as due to upheavals during the reign of Frederick III Vienna was getting unstable, due to rampaging Husitic Mercenaries which the Emperor seemingly ignored. It led to Rudolf, the personification of Vienna, starting to isolate from his adopted family.
💜 This internal struggle lead to a blind spot: both Maximilian and Roderich ignored the danger posed by Hungarians, king Matthias Corvinus and his Black Army. Matter of fact, Roderich, still having a bit of a crush for Erzsebet from their childhood days was unwilling to react.
But, it all came to the conclusion in 1485, when Vienna got conquered, and Rudolf, blinded by an explosive, captured into Hungarian captivity. Austrians regained the city and their boy back only five years later, and this event brought the family closer, Maximilian and Roderich swearing, that they'll never allow themselves to lose Rudolf again. But, Rudolf was left with permanently weakened eyesight from the explosion, despite nation regeneration still bringing him back from almost complete blindness.
💜 Next Holy Roman Emperor, Maximilian, due to marriage with Burgundian princess secured the "lower Austria" for the duchy, and also started a rivalry and war with France, as France also wanted Burgundy for itself. But, in the end, Habsburgs won, and Maximilian I became Holy Roman Emperor, coining the well known motto:
Bella gerant alii, tu felix Austria nube,
Nam quae Mars aliis, dat tibi regna Venus.
And since it's a prompt for the next day, we'll return to it tomorrow, right to see how Austria united with Spain and gained Bohemia, Hungary and Habsburg Netherlands.
Thank you for reading if you got this far into my history book with random ocs!
Aph Austria Week days 1 HC post
Before we start, I want to say that in my personal hcs many nations have two equal to each other personifications, and if you see the name Max/Maximilian it's my oc of "second" or "2p" (despite him not exactly fitting the category of fanon 2p) Austria.
And yes, I know I'm late... Sorry!
Tw: illness mentions, age gap stuff
Day 1: Days of childhood
💜 Both of them were birthed by Alps, the mountains that are making the majority of their territory somewhere around 810. Found by local humans, they got transported to Aachen, to be presented to aging, and close to death, Charlemagne.
💜 Charlemagne in general didn't really care too much about brothers - first, because many of the young nations either died soon, or became cities, so unestablished territory wasn't really all that interesting on the off chance they'll waste all of the resources put into raising them by dying. Second, Charlemagne put most of his life trying to cultivate and strengthen other young personification - a certain spoiled boy with a head of golden curls. If any other personifications got too strong, they could've become a future danger and rivals for the empire, he helped establish. But, Charlemagne left a small memento for the boys in the form of the second name, that in the future morphed into Franz, and which one brother abandoned fully, and the other kept.
💜 Two boys got separated, each given to different nobles to raise.
The ones raising Roderich were happy to get a boy to raise, and allowed him to choose his own interests and run almost freely, hoping he'll develop a proficiency for sword. But, the child's constitution was terrible, and he preferred to follow bards rather than knights. Hoping he'll grow out of it soon enough, the human caretakers indulged him.
Maximilian was given to a noble that wasn't really that interested in the extra job of shaping a young nation. Especially, since the boy was very sickly. The noble just assumed he was going to die anyway and probably soon, so it was not worth getting attached, and instead placed the kid in a locked tower, with a very strict education schedule, very high demands and little in case of allowing him to be a child. Instead, when not almost dying of another illness, he was spending his whole days at a desk, forced to rewrite and rewrite different books page by page, as his human caretakers hoped that the knowledge and morals from them would seep into the child and he'll internalise it.
💜 The year became 976 - as danger from Moravians grew, the interest in two personifications still hanging on and now around the age of ten got reignited. Emperor Otto II created a new march, called Östliche Mark, for the boys to personify, and gave both the march and the boys under the care of Bavaria. Bavaria had it's own personification - a girl, at that time aged 16 named Albrechta, not really caring to deal with some snotty brats. She was an adult, after all.
The separation made the brothers grow fonder of each other, the differences soon became apparent in their interests. As Roderich looked east, to Italy, to Magyars, to Czechs and Maximilian west, towards the Holly Roman Empire, Franks, Schwyz and Helvetia. First love and rivalries and friendships began to form.
💜 As times grew turbulent, in 1095 the pope called nations for the crusade. At first, the plan was for Maximilian to go first, together with Bavarian troops, and then for Roderich to change him. But the Crusades were an absolute dumpster fire. He caught malaria almost instantly, and then got shunned by other powers present - but the straw that broke the camel's back was when other leaders threw the Austrian banner into the moat. After that, he just withdrew and came back to Austria, making Roderich stay back.
💜 But, there was no time for crusades anyway, as the March was growing in importance, and in 1156 got elevated to the tittle of Duchy. Boys also grew, becoming closer and closer to adult age. The dynamic that later in life led the brothers also started to develop: as Roderich was calmer, more approachable, and better suited for internal matters and subtle ways of the court, and Maximilian, more decided, imposing and determined served as a great negotiator for foreign policy.
💜 Soon after, in 1246 the dynasty of Babenbergs died out, making 17 year old brothers for 30 years fall under the Czech rule. The Czech personification, Hedvika, was a bit older than them, but they knew each other well (especially her and Roderich). But still, brothers didn't really like being the part of the Czech domain. There were even plans for Maximilian and Hedvika to marry, but...
💜 As brothers turned into young men, Albrechta took a notice and liking to them. She was older, as when the brothers looked and acted around 18, she was closer in maturity to 24, but that didn't stop her from pursuing them.
Roderich declined, still infatuated with his childhood friend Erzie. But Maximilian had no such objections. The couple started an affair, which led to an unplanned pregnancy...
And soon, a child was born. A daughter, who was named Constance, and was born and tied to the city of Salzburg. It was a scandal, and the marriage plans between Maximilian and Hedvika were dropped, Max was sent on punitive pilgrimage, and Roderich overtook all his duties. The girl was sent to live with her mother, which Maximilian considered grave injustice.
💜 As 1276 rolled around, a new person important in the lives of brothers appeared: Rudolph Habsburg, a young, ambitious prince, that had an appetite for the throne of Holly Roman Empire. First step: get closer to Austrian personifications. And he did, becoming almost a surrogate father for them, and getting their support in the war against the Czech. They ended up winning, and soon after Rudolf Habsburg became emperor elect. The brothers no longer were children, but young men, ready to take on the job of leading the country with a new dynasty at their side.
💜 after the win, Maximilian and Roderich moved to Vienna, which was chosen for their capital. They quickly took a liking to the city, despite it's flat terrain, and to it's personification - a 13 year old boy called Bohumir (named by Hedvika, who lived there earlier and was an important figure for him). Czech sentiments notwithstanding, and Maximilian still not over having to give up his daughter, they decided to adopt the boy, to strengthen their ties. And with a new family, came a new name - Rudolph, after their prince.
Hope you liked it, if you got this far!
