Raised by her father, Herbert Marshall Crudup, a pianist, composer and vocalist, a man who worked with the likes of Quincy Jones & Gladys Knight, Deedee is also the great grand daughter of blues legend Arthur “BigBoy” Crudup, best known for writing songs covered by Elvis Presley including, That’s all Right, My Baby Left Me and So Glad Your Mine. This rich family history helps weave a fabric of songs, music that is textured with vocals that shine over everything they touch, her talent and enthusiasm ring true time and time again. Currently working on a full-length album alongside collaborations with producers all over the globe, her story and experiences are something that we can all relate to, there is always a message in her music, a moral to every story. As an artist Deedee embodies the spirit of a young woman who has dealt with a great deal of love & pain and those emotions come through in her work. With her new album in the works, Summerhill Music is happy to be a part of the momentum, releasing Hurricane, what is in essence a teaser off her upcoming album. With remixes from Manny Ward, Shelton C, Gil Aguilar, Carpetbaggers, Violet Masters and Hot Hotels, we did our best to bring a few different takes on the vocal and the results are definitely that, from big room to deep, this one definitely has the range...
