Lent Day1
Y’all today wasn’t as bad as I first thought!!
I have many times of temptation and worry! I kept thinking, if no one sees me then I can do it! But this gut feeling of God will know came over me everytime I was tempted!!
I know this is going to be hard, I will keep getting tempted and things will get harder before they get easier but I’m one day down and 39 to go!!
Please continue to pray for me because Lord knows I’m going to need it!
I’ve know Lent is a holiday many followers of Christ participated in for a long time. I never knew the reason, never understood why. I read up on some history and some customs of if. That being said, I will be participating in Lent this year! 40 days on finding control in my life to take something away. 40 days of temptation of “needing” that want! 40 day of drawing closer to God. 40 days of letting the Spirit guide me! So here we go! 40 days without Social Media! Updating on tumblr through my journey! Wish me luck and lots of prayers
Merry Christmas to all!
What a wonderful morning on Christmas Eve!
As we get ready to celebrate with family and friends, let's not forget why we gather all together!
Our savior is coming! Our Savior was born to us, in a manger. Brought down from Heaven as a baby! As a baby, weak, small, unknowing of anything. The Creator of all things came down to us!
The Shepards heard the Angels, the Wise Men saw the star. We are being lead to the King in the manger.
Doctor Who + inappropriate song auditions (insp)
10th Doctor could easily have been Kiss From a Rose
These hurt me.

From GIlmer to God
My path to God wasn’t normal. I was a person who wanted to believe in something bigger but also wanted to live my life my way. I didn’t want anything holding me down or getting in my way of living my life.
When I was 19 I met my husband, when I was 20 he and I got married, a few weeks later we moved to North Carolina, where he was stationed in the Marine Corps. Being raised in a big town I expected every town to be big. When I moved, it was a small town with just a base and nothing much around it. A few years later, he tells me that he didn’t want to be in the Marine Corps anymore and wanted to move. We made the decision that Gilmer Texas was the place we wanted to be. I didn’t agree 100 percent but I knew he wanted what was best for our family.
When we moved to Gilmer, I didn’t know anyone, it was a whole new world. Before I met my husband I thought everyone from Texas had horses and cowboy hats and big farms. He moved us to a small town with no horses or farms or anything. Being in North Carolina, I got used to being in a small town with not much in it. So I didn’t make it a big deal. Took me a while to start making friends, find a job and start school.
A few months of being in Gilmer, my mother in law told me the best way to make friends in a small town is to join in the church and friends will fallow. I wanted to grow my relationship with God so I joined the church and got baptized a few months later.
I am a big believer in that everything happens for a reason. Nothing gets passed God. He knows everyone and has control of everything. He knew we would move to Gilmer, even before the thought was in our minds. So I believe the real reason for us moving to Gilmer was not to just move but for my husband and me to grow in our relationship with each other and God.
Being a part of such an amazing and welcoming church has not only opened my heart in how amazing and wonderful God truly is but also opened my heart to new and amazing experiences with the people around me. Such amazing, loving, and open-hearted people and I am blessed to have befriended each and every one of them
He is so good in everything He does. He has my best interest in mind in everything I do.
He is given all the glory in my life.
My Open Letter to the President:
Hello Sir,
My name is Almedina Wear. I am a 22- almost 23 year old, mother of a 17 month old girl, wife of a retired corporal in the Marine Corps (OORAH) and college student studying to become a math teacher.
My life, isn't your average American story. I was born in Bosnia, on June 2 1991. My mother and father were both born and raised in Bosnia as well. My younger sister, Elvedina or Ellie for short, was born in Austria when my mother(pregnant with my sister) and i moved there so my father to stay back and fight in the war. My country was destroyed because an evil man decided he didn't like certain "Bosnia-Muslims" and wanted to "purify" the country. When my father made it back, they had made a decision to get our family out of Bosnia and move to America.
Now we didn't just hop on a boat and come here, we didn't swim here and we sure as hell didn't jump a fence. We had joined a program to find sponsors to help fund us and support us in our journey to America. I was too young to understand what was happening, I just knew we were leaving our family, friends and life behind to go to America.
Once we LEGALLY got our green cards, we moved in with our sponsors and lived with them for about a year or so. In that year, my parents found multiple jobs to support our family. They enrolled me school, were i had to learn to read, write and speak English. My sister was too young at the time to start school.
After that year or so, we moved out of our sponsors house, found a two bedroom apartment to live in ourselves. Again, my parents had to work multiple jobs to support us, my sister and i were both in school at this time. Fast forward a few more years, my family decided to move again. They found this up and coming new town-home complex. We were there to see our house get built and we planned everything for that house. Once we moved into that house, the real journey began. On top of my parents STILL working multiple jobs to make ends meet, they also start the process of becoming naturalized. In the day they would work, at time they would take English classes so they could learn to speak, write and read English.
From the day we moved to the United States of America to the day they got their citizenship papers, it took my mother and father 10 YEARS!!
10 years of paper work, 10 years of endless classes, 10 years of working their butts off, all because they wanted a better life for my sister and I. 10 years, sir. that is half my life. Because my sister and i were under the required age, we got naturalized under my parents.
Now, im the type of person that kinda sits back and lets the world turn, UNTIL i see something wrong!! You sir are ruining this country. You are belittling the middle and upper class and making the middle and lower class THINK they are better and deserve things they haven't worked for.
Immigration is a very soar subject for me because of what my family HAD to do to become citizens of this great country. you are ALLOWING illegal people come and just TAKE what they please without working for it. allowing them to think they deserve things others have worked for. shame on you, shame on your staff and shame on this congress for letting you get away with more than enough!!
you don't deserve the honor of being president, you are under-qualified, a liar, a thief, and worse you want to divide this country!! this country has been through too much to let a man like you destroy it!!

that hasn't worked out too well.
but here i am. we've got 5 days till Christmas, and 5 days till Doctor Who comes on with its Christmas special.
i got into Doctor Who when i moved to texas with my family. my father in law got me into it. now im hooked.
it'll be my first Christmas without my family, so it'll be different but i'm excited to start our own family traditions here and we'll spend the day with my husbands family.
merry Christmas and a happy holidays
TODAY
well another day of classes.
english class, i have yet to learn anything. all it is, is i read a chapter, take notes and write a summary of the chapter and turn it in.... eh :/ learning nothing!!
math is so beyond boring i dont know what to do with myself. i know everything shes teaching. im ahead of the class. i blame myself for not getting a better score on the placement test to begin with. if i did i wouldnt have to sit through beginning algebra when my brain wants to learn calculus.
speech, i wouldnt be taking this class if i didnt have to but every freshman has to take it in their first year :/ its a fun and easy class but i hate getting up in front of people and having to speak ehhh
i love that im back in school, challenging myself and better myself for my future and for my families future but goodness, i thought it would challenge me a little bit, but between not learning anything in english comp and already knowing all the information in math, and not wanting to speak in front of people. its the best of both worlds, i just hope next semester is better, in a way that I LEARN SOMETHING WHILE CHALLENGING MYSELF!!
on a side note, my father in law finally took care of the tv and phone issues we have been having!! just in time for the SVU SEASON PREMIERE!!! i am soo excited and ready. i spent the last 3 months catching up on every episode and im ready to see how this season goes!! whose excited!!
School, NTCC, future education
When my husband got out of the marine corp, we decided to move to texas. when that happened, i decided it was time to start school again. the college life didnt work out in va at NOVA, i knew it would be different.
i started at NTCC a few weeks ago. life is so different. im glad i made the decision to start again. im bettering myself, my family and my daughters future.
Daughters 1st birthday
My family flew in from VA this past weekend to celebrate my daughters first birthday. its amazing how fast a year goes by, how much a baby can learn in 365 days. how much she can grow. shes learned to roll over, learn to crawl, to talk more like babble, and shes finally learned to walk! all those accomplishments and shes only 1!
She brings so much joy and light into my life, its amazing! my husband and i are so blessed to have such a wellbehaved, smart, kindhearted daughter. she is going to grow up to be an amazing person. i cant wait to see what the next year, 5, 10, 20 years have in store for her and us as a family.
happy birthday Layla Renee, mommy and daddy love you so much!
Sep 15 2012-
Why, hello. Nice of you to stop by.
Let me tell you a few things about myself!
My name is Almedina Wear. Most everyone on this planet, besides my parents call me Dina. i just turned 22 years old. My family and I moved to the United States when i was 6 years old. We moved from a very small country by the name of Bosnia. We lived in Virginia our whole lives.
I am married to the most amazing man on this planet. His name is Kodey, he is 23 going on 24 years old. He served his country proudly for 5 years as a Marine. We got married on May 27 of 2011. God knew what He was doing when he made Kodey. He made him just for me. No other man can take my craziness, my stubbornness, my good and bad days, and still love me the way he does. I am one lucky girl to have a man like him in my life, and get to call him my husband.
Now on to my pride and joy. That little girl you see in our daughter. Her name is Layla Renee. She is going on 9 months this month. She is the reason why im going back to school, the reason why i wake up with a smile on my face everyday. She fills a hole in my heart that no one else can fill.
There you have it. Me, my family, my life.
Enjoy
