So, what do I like?

Creating art in any medium, though I mostly stick to digital painting! D&D playing and hosting (on occassion), dice collecting, writing, speculative evolution and biology, herpetology, ichthyology, entomology; I collect -ologies like they're Pokémon cards. I'm also a super big fan of indie horror!

I'm on iNaturalist too, trying by best to learn how to identify inverts and fit my own niche there! I'm always open to learning, so please feel free to correct me about any misinformation.

"I can't believe humans would hunt the thylacine to extinction, humans are fundamentally evil" Hey, did you know that extinction was long thought to be impossible, and within 50 years of humans realizing that extinction via overhunting was a possibility it practically stopped happening? Did you know that humans are so desperate to prevent more losses that they're funneling millions of collective hours and billions of euros into helping other species? Hours and euros that could be spent on humans, being spent on species on whom humanity's own survival does not depend? Did you know that due to an accidental introduction of rats, the Lord Howe Island stick insect population was brought down to 24 individuals and now there are tens of thousands of them?

This bug. This bug that, to most humans, is utterly useless, relatively gross, and completely foreign. Humans saved it because humans do not want to cause another extinction ever again if they can avoid it.

A bright butterfly skipping from flower to flower in a white clover patch! This species is probably the most frustrated I've been while photographing a butterfly in a while. They're extremely energetic and very skittish, a terrible combination for macros. I had to follow this individual for far too long just to get these three shots. Despite these butterflies being gorgeous and absolutely everywhere in NH, I cut my losses after the first one and decided to put my energy into other insects. I'm fine with admiring them from afar—for now, at least!

Brown Thrasher (Toxostoma rufum), taken March 9, 2026, in Georgia, US

A brown thrasher looking at me with his big ole eyes! This individual is quite shy, always in and out quickly, so good pictures are hard to come by. This day he was feeling braver than usual and spent a few seconds looking at me before grabbing his fill from the feeders. I love thrashers' bright yellow eyes—so striking, especially in the sun like this!
